This is by far and away the best online lecture I've seen. (I've seen Kranzo's, Joshua Jay's, Menotti's, Farquhar's, Jon Armstrong's, and John Van Der Putt's.) Dan made me feel like a spectator again and provided great advice as well as great tricks.

A breakdown of the effects he performed/explained:
An amazing ACAAN (sadly, not explained, but he did share another, not quite as good routine)
Shrinking Rubber Band
Broken and Restored Rubber Band
Traveling Cash (marketed effect, I will definately use this)
Band Vanish (he snorts it up his nose)
Stash (marketed effect, briefly explained)
Bottom Deal Routine (this is unbelievable, and the last phase blew me away)
A simple sugar vanish and reproduction (really beautiful routine that a lot of magicians overlook)
A variation of Chris Randall's sugar high (better than Chris' version)
An incredible impromptu Out of This World Routine that I will start doing immediately.
A mentalism routine that utilizes a diabolical peak Dan created. I will use this.

If there no explanations, I would be happy with my purchase. Watching Dan perform really opened my eyes and his advice is timeless and practical. My best buy on Penguin yet.

As you mention, disappointingly Dan won't explain his ACAAN which occupies a big portion as his opener. As a host, Dan constantly pushes performers to give more to the audience, yet in this talk he seems kind of tense. When asked to explain the ACAAN routine, for 11 minutes solid he waffles around, staring at the camera, dodging the question it seems - or have I misunderstood? It seems so unjust, when Dan pushes other magicians to explain even commercial effects, that Dan won't fully explain his own commercial sharpie effect and with the ACAAN is so vague, saying things like 'I did something' and staring meaningfully into the camera before announcing 'You've got enough hints. Go figure it out'. Honestly, I hope I've misunderstood because I like Dan but this just seemed wrong. Plus I know this talk was prepared at short notice, so we've no downloads or freebies with it, so a little generosity within the talk would have gone a long way imho. But don't buy it if you're expecting an explanation for his ACAAN.

Hey goldeneddie, where does it say in the description that he teaches ACAAN? OH? It doesn't say that anywhere?

Hmmmm, I guess that would make you a big ol' cry baby wouldn't it? Quit yer bitch'n.

Dan does more for the magic community in one day than you will do in your entire life. Since you obviously aren't interested in anything else, just thank him for sharing, and move along (as opposed to your ripping apart a very small part of a lecture full of gold).

Seriously man, just go dig a hole and jump in.
