I really enjoy this DVD, impressive tricks and tips on how to pick up the ladies and present yourself, are very good.
I will definetly add this to my bag of tricks in social gatherings. Only drawnback that some of the trick will take some practice to pull off... caution the VIP trick in the BOMB!

Firestarters is FANTASTIC !!! I bought the DVD as a way to learn interesting romatic tricks to perform for my wife. Jay's techniques are real hits.
For the unbelievers, Jay's advice on how to approach and speak to women is Dead On. It's not the magic, but the approach that counts. The magic is a good excuse to enter into another's personal zone, and that's what you want.
Jay's methods for opening up conversations with anyone are fabulous. His tips for what to say, how to look, and what not to do are exactly what women want.

Okay DVD

Okay, I gotta be honest. I bought this DVD for laughs. It's not as funny as I thought it'd be. There are parts that had me cracking up and it's funny that Jay's giving you tips with the ladies but don't buy it for that reason. The effects aren't great but they really are "Firestarters."
If you need help with the ladies, pick it up. Lots of people think magic and dating don't connect. That's because people don't perform the right kind of effects. I didn't give this a higher rating because the sound quality is horrific and I didn't find a lot of workable material. I did like some like Dotcom and V.I.P. So buy it if you want some dates. Otherwise, give this a miss.

If anything, buy it for the laughs. Although, I would have to say that Jay Sankey explaining love and dating is spooky.
The effects are awesome and have the superb Sankey handling.

The effects are very nice because they are exactly what they promise to be, little firestarters. I found it unbelievable, though, that Jay now also offers self-help guidance in flirting, because inbetween the tricks he included 15 (or so) "tips" that don't really have to do with magic at all. He will just sit there and talk to you about this and that. He suggests that going to the gym is a good thing, recommends fashion-magazines and says when best to wear a tux and when not. I watched this with my girlfriend and she shook her head, saying something like: "there is about nothing this guy has left out now, has he?".
Since diet books are I think the number one market of any market, I am sure "Magic recepies, cooking with Jay", will come out soon. Ask your magic dealer for details.
Anyway. The reviewer who wrote this looong negative review, don't know what's going on with him. WHAT makes him think that teenagers are the target-group of this project? He may have a few valid points but most of it is just nonsense, i.m.o.
Also a very funny rap-episode at the end of the DVD, about the monkey and the giraffe, I believe. Never seen him do that before.
All in all a good buy. And yes, if you are ignorant, rude, smelly and ugly, it won't help. You'd be asking too much from this DVD. (but it's a bit as if the viewer was the queer-eye-for-a-straight-guy type of problematic person, you learn pretty much everything nobody ever taught you. lol. )
Stealing somebody's personality????? Can't get over that one either.
Interesting also: Jay himself, like always, flirts with the camera like crazy. So you can get an inkling of how he gets into people's hearts, minds and pants.
I agree with the previous reviewer in one respect, though, the "sankey-spankey"-joker trick is based on the assumption, it seems, that either most women or Jay himself kind of like that. It was still mainly presented as a joke so I didn't really pass out. We felt well entertained.

Ok first of all I have no IDEA what is wrong with those people who gave this DVD below three stars. They must not have even watched it all the way through or something. I mean seriously, I think just the EFFECTS alone merit a decent rating. Admittedly, they are not ALL great but there are DEFINITELY some killer tricks. I'm not just talking about V.I.P. either; that's in a league of its own and as some would argue, worth the price of the DVD ALONE. Tricks like Whisper, Eye2Eye and Destined can be done without any sort of "Firestarters" patter and get great reactions. Others like Dotcom, Hundred Dollar Kiss and Heated Exchange are ordinary effects brought to whole new levels. Jay explains his reasoning behind every action, every word in the patter and they MAKE A LOT OF SENSE!! (Listen to what he says during the explaination of Whisper and you'll know what I mean) Not to mention he gives you LEGITIMATE dating tips between just about every single trick.
Five things that Jay says he set out to do (and accomplishes quite well)with his Firestarters:
1. Determine actual Prospects
2. Convey that you are Single and Interested (Without being blatant)
3. Create Intimacy, Promote Flirting
4. Gauge the Interest of the other person
5. Get the all-important Contact Info
The one complaint that was brought up that IS a real concern is that the people who end up buying this are probably not gonna be Professionals working at restaurants or corporate gigs or whatnot. BUT these will work at just about any social event so as long as you can adapt to the situation, the problem is not significant.
30 Dollars is understandably a LITTLE high of a price but I personally think it was a very worthwhile purchase. Those who have taken the time to read this far though, hopefully have a better understanding of what to expect from this DVD and can not make a more informed decision.

Man this wasn't worth the money at all! I thought it was going to be better, well don't get me wrong it's still good but the money for it was not I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy it or anything it's your choice I'm just telling you what I thought of it if you still want it go ahead it's your money but if your looking for girls to be interested in you I think you should get a Levitation effect instead they really like that just get the invisible thread or anything else besides this DVD.

Invisible deck
a deck full that is 1/2 one card and 1/2 another... lets say king of hearts and jack of clubs (just an example)... ull need a deck full of those

I personally don't have any of these things.. besides the invisible deck ( I have that) and the dvd is way worth its money.
Jay is haliarious!
I watched the dvd just to watch it, and then I watched it again and took notes on it (because there are so many effects!) and a third time to practice it!
AMAZING!
I can't wait to do these effects at the boardwalk this summer!

To begin with, I didn’t by this DVD hoping it would have some serious or useful information on it; I just purchased it hoping it would give me a laugh or two. Because I couldn’t possibly think it would actually get me dates. What could Jay Sankey teach me about getting girls? Well, perhaps I though I would pick up at least a few useful tips.
Before I bought the DVD, I of course read about the different effects included on the disc, and to be honest I got my first laugh right there: “Under the Table: Hold hands with her! (Yes-under the table!)”. Seriously, are you kidding me? This effect is truly tragically. Most effects are all so “sad”.
Okay, I’ve criticized enough and explained to little. So, why is DVD just a waste of your money? Let me explain.
The people buying this DVD, I figure are mostly teenagers. Let us estimate it to about 16, okay. How many 16 year old magicians work in restaurants or a place where they really have the time to sit at one table and perform all these effects? Because it’s just like Sankey said, it’s about building the tension between you and the hot babe. And you won’t be able to do that by just performing one, or even three effects. Well, if you do have the “luxury” of being able to work one table for 30 minutes and then move on to the next one, sure, good for you. But problems still remain, good luck finding 16 year old girls at restaurants.
I guess most of the teenagers didn’t buy this DVD so they actually could use it while performing at restaurants, no, they bought it so they could use the tips and tricks in school. Now, let me explain why this won’t get you anywhere. In school, most people in your class and perhaps school probably know about you and your personality, so making this quick personality change that is described on this DVD probably will just make you look stupid. You must already know your way with the ladies to have any luck.
Okay, lets say you like a girl in your class, Anyways, this girl will already like you or she won’t like you, doing the firestarters tricks could only worsen the situation. If she doesn’t like you, she will probably label you as a creep, which is kind of obvious. If she does like you, you should already know that. Because I guess you have spoken to her? Otherwise, nothing can help you!
What this DVD pretty much teaches you is to steal another person’s personality. And ALL magicians know that just doesn’t work. Well, in some cases it does, but still, this is different. Because either you are a person that has an easy time talking to girls, or you are really good with people, you are already good at flirting. This DVD will not teach you how to do that, this is not the “basics”, you can’t buy this DVD and hope you can add it to your performance, well you probably could, but it wouldn’t be real, everyone would notice. Being able to flirt with girls is a must. That is a skill you must already have acquired before trying the tips on this DVD. Simply speaking, you should already be able to get the girl WITHOUT using magic. That’s what it’s all about. This DVD pretty much only teaches you how to add your own personality to the magic, and if it isn’t your personality that is taught on the DVD, well, it’s just a waste of money (Sankey is very vulgar in his presentations, very straight forward). The jokes he make just doesn’t do it for 16 year old girls.
Regarding the effects, well what can I say? They are not worth the money. If you are just looking for good, close up card magic, you’ve got the wrong DVD. The last effect sure is good; I can’t say it’s not, because it is. But it requires that you have done at least six effects before hand, and asked a few questions. So, honestly, it’s not worth it. The other effects aren’t even good. His presentations aren’t even good. They suck, they truly do SUCK! The effect “Kinky”, well, the effect is not BAD, but the presentation is so BAD. I’ll explain. The trick involves jokers, and rubber bands. So after a while into the effect Sankey starts moaning and saying the Jokers likes being spanked. I though I was going to pass out. This is the most ‘off turning’ presentation I’ve ever heard before. If you manage to get a girl interested with this presentation, give me a call and I will praise you as my hero.
