David Blaine performs many of the hottest effects in all of magic. Penguin
Magic is excited to make these effects available to you as a performer.
Get ready for some HUGE reactions!
- Bitten and restored coin - David borrows a coin, then proceeds to take
a bite out of it! He then spits the bitten bit out and the coin restores
itself. We carry the most versitile version of this effect. It's called
the 3 in One
Quarter. With it you'll be able to perform the Bitten and Restored
Coin and two other high-impact Street Magic effects.
- Crushed and restored can - Performed by David in "Vertigo", an
empty can of soda or beer is shown. It is crushed, then miraculously
starts to visually heal itself back to it's original state. The can is
then opened, and the contents poured into a glass. This hot new effect is
called Healed and
Sealed.
- Arm Twisting
Illusion - David puts his hand palm down on the ground and the
proceeds to twist it round one and a half times! We can tell you that no
props were used for this and it was completely impromptu. Wanna know more?
Then take a look at the DVD.
-
Signed card rising to the top of the deck - A spectator signs a card which
is returned to the middle of the deck. The top card is then turned over
and it is the chosen one. This is done a couple more times and last of all
the card is bent in half before being put into the middle of the pack. The
bent card then jumps to the top of the pack. This routine is called 'The
Ambitious Card' and uses a standard pack of playing cards. We carry the
DVD that teaches The Ambitious Card Routine. It's called Daryl's Ambitious
Card - DVD.
- Spectators watch removed without them noticing - This requires a great
deal misdirection and technique. Check out our Watch Bandit
Video for details on how to perform this.
- Coin vanishing without being touched - A spectator puts a coin on
their outstretched hand and David waves his hands above it, at no time
touching it. The coin then vanishes from the spectators hands and David's
hands are also shown as empty on both sides. Hint - This uses 'The Raven'.
- Selected card rising from the deck - a spectator selects a card which
is returned to the pack. The pack is then put back in it's box which the
spectator holds. The chosen card mysteriously rises from the pack! This
version of the Rising Card
doesn't use any wires or pulls.
- Thread being broken and restored - a length of thread is shown, torn
into pieces, and these pieces placed in a spectators palm. The broken
threads are then rolled into a ball, and when unravelled, have become a
single piece of thread once more. This routine is called the Dragon
Thread.
- Chosen card is reversed in the deck - a spectator names a card whilst
holding the deck. The deck is then opened and guess what? The chosen card
is reversed. This is known as the Invisible Deck,
or a similar effect can be produced with the Brainwave deck
where not only is the card reversed, but it has a different colour back to
the rest of the pack.
- Levitation - Majority opinion on this is that some clever camera
trickery was used when David was seen rising appx 2 feet from the ground.
A routine for impromptu levitation is available on the 'Learn to
Levitate' video. Although impressive, this form of levitation will
only get you about 2-3 inches from the ground. It is thought this was
performed in front of the audience, then the film was edited to give David
a bit of extra lift - who knows, though!
- A spectators watch mysteriously changes time - This effect is called
'Psychokinetic
Time' and has recently been reprinted due to the heavy demand after
this program.
