There are one or two okay cuts on this DVD which I could be tempted to use, but mostly this DVD
contains some very average cuts. I would go and check out Dan and Dave's DVDs for this sort of
magic.

EXTREME CUTS WITH KEONE by Keone Valdez
Stretch your fingers and exercise your hands
because this dvd will teach you all flashy moves on how to cut cards.
At first I was
skeptical on buying this video because I didn't think it would be good. Then from a very bad forum,
Keone contacted me and traded a vid of mine for his signed dvd. I was thrilled. The man himself
giving me his own video.
Okay, all the hype it shows on the demo videos are not really
what it looks like. The contents are good but not too complicated. They are all pure cuts, cuts and
more cuts.
Here's my opinions on the individual contents of the video:
"KEO KUT
- 3 packet cut with 180 degree mid air spin"
I was expecting more on this cut because his name
was in it and I thought this cut should be good. Unfortunately, it is just another variation of the
pivot cut with Keone's style. It looks cool though. ...and there is no "mid-air 180 spin"
"SHAKES - Half Sibling with finger flurry Shake finish"
Well, the start of this cut
resembles the Sibling cut of Mr. Lee Asher but the middle to end sequence is no where close.
This is a super duper easy cut but you need to practice hard to make it look good. You need
smootheness and flow in this cut, not speed. One of my top picks in the dvd.
"HALF TWISTED
- Mirror image two handed cut, can be done false "
This cut is another variation of the
Charlier Cut done in both hands. I'm sure you have seen this before and the move is not new. It
looks good and is fairly easy to do once you know how to do a Charlier Pass. I like this cut but I'd
stick to my own one hand cut creations.
"FA SHOW - A Charlier revolution cut, can be done
false"
It's actually what it says, a cut with carliers and the one handed revolution of Brian
Tudor. It is a simultaneous cut on both hands doing different things. I like this cut but doing it
is illogical. You'll get me once you've seen how it is done.
"BREEZE - Cut, clip, pivot,
and curl? That's a breeze. "
This is not your hyped up sybil with steroids. It is a basic 4
packet sybil that retains the entire order of the deck. This move is okay but not okay-okay.
"ROLLOUT - Cards roll out under and up the deck"
This is my favorite cut in the dvd. It is
very simple but very flashy. It is a 3 packet cut with a twist-literally.
"REMIX - A
wicked medley of some familiar card cuts "
I see Lee Asher, Brian Tudor, Buck Twins and a twist
of Keone in this sybil resembling cut. This one you need to practice to be able to do. The cut looks
good but the closing of the cut is not.
"JUMP SHOT - Cards are cut and shot into a
one-handed fan"
There is no one handed fan taught in the video. It says it is an aerial move
but a very simple aerial. Better learn T.G. Murphy's Deck Flip in the Imagication book.
"THUMB PIVOT - Cards pivot around each other, off the thumb"
Now this move in the dvd needs
more teaching. The way Keone teaches this cut is too fast and doesn't go in proper detail. I don't
like this cut because of the weird finger placements.
"BIG TOP - A cut display with a fan
at the top"
This display cut I like. A combo of a one handed fan and cut display.
"K
Display - Keone's personal 6-packet card display"
Like the Keo CUt, I didn't like this one that
much. I was expecting more but I got less.
Overall, the dvd is great if you are starting
to learn some fancy cuts with cards.
Keone performs them very smoothly. No speed in his
moves but smoothness. That's what makes them beautiful.
I recommend it. A 7 out of 10.

Hi! This is your official PenguinMagic reviewer, B_Magic.
This DVD was okay. I learned a
couple good cuts and Keone definitely knows what he's doing with card cutting. However, I found the
DVD at times hard to follow and Keone's instructions lacking a lot. I think the DVD could have been
made better and the moves explained a little deeper so that newbies, which would be most of us with
this genre, would be able to have an easier time with it.
It is a good DVD though and one
I'd say, for the most part, I'm happy to own.

well, he's ok at teaching but the cuts honestly just suck
they make the cuts look cool by
making him wear glasses and having a strobe light flash. wtf?
also the music gets repeated
over and over and over and over and over (you get the point) and its REALLY ANNOYING
don't
buy it unless you get it free somehow

If you want to learn some kool cuts get this
but about 3 or 4 of them need big hands. He is a
great
teachers and shows you the cuts in deep explanation.
I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS DVD.

How someone this cocky can make miniscule changes to existing cuts, and call them his own, I don't
know. The way of showing the cuts is unprofessional, and seem to be more of a art project with the
special effects.
While most of the cuts are good, if I had a second choice, I wouldn't buy this
again.

OK:
Pro:
Very nice collection of cuts. None of them are overly complex in execution (as
opposed to say DE'VO).
The DVD is set up nicely so you can either watch (and show your
friends/family) all the cuts. Or you can select and jump right to the learn section.
The
learning section gives you menu's that is set up with 2 colums - 1. to watch the cut in action, (3
ways, right hand angle, left hand angle, and a red "negative" view) 2. The cut explanation So you
can hop to whereever you like with a click of a button.
CONS:
There is only one con! Be
prepaird to have your remote AND your cards in your hands at the same time (now there is a trick!!!)
because you will be spending alot of time running this thing forward/backward and in slowmotion.
This video lacks in explanation in detail and what is shown visibly, alot of times his hands cover
even those views. The only way to get the most out of this video is to watch, and watch again, then
watch another clip of the same cut at a different angles. Like I mentioned - it's not that the cuts
themselves are not complicated, it's just where do your hand/fingers go.
The reason I
gave it a "Thumbs down" is simply because I do not feel it was a good investment as a tutorial video
nor was their any time put into it to help with the explanations. Currently the way I am learning
from it, I can do the same thing watching the demo ("slo-mo" forward/backward").
Key Note
to future training videos: Step-by-Step.
I gave it 3 stars because I like the cuts, it's
just a trick figuring out the moves (pun intended)
I think in all fairness Keone should
redo the explanation side, then allow those of us who purchased the vid to trade it in for one with
better explanations (Customer Service). I don't want my money back. Just What I paid for.

Ok, before you even think about buying this DVD, I suggest you learn and practice the one hand
revolution and the sybil work from Brian Tudor. The cuts are somewhat nice but the explanation is
almost the worst that i ever seen.
I like it because I'm into XCM, but dont buy this if you
are beginning in card manipulation.

After reading a couple of reviews for this dvd I didn't expect much but I there is actually more
than one good cut. Roll out and thumb pivot cut are real good and they are easy as well. There might
even be one or two other good ones. I just suggests that the people who invent these cuts and card
manipulations try and find out if these moves can be perform by people who don't have hands as big
as theirs. Other than that, I recommend this if you needs just a couple of cuts.
Oh, you can
also come up with you own cuts by combining and mismatching the moves that make these cuts up.
there are some pretty cool cuts but what didn't like at all is that he really didn't get into detail
explanations, he'll just show it like once and i felt like he's like here what ever, now lets do the
next one and so on and so on.. but there are some like i said, i like the big top thats my favorite
and i'm still working on it, i'm also so glad i bought this off the cool box offer, not worth the
regular price, but that's just me, other magicians might think different...
