While the T.U.C coins may be a bit on the pricey side--and I was wary of purchasing this--I must say that I have no regrets after receiving one. This is by far a superior tool for conducting coin magic, and it's amazing how such a small thing can open up a whole world of possibilities. Basically what it does, as mentioned in the video clip on here, is eliminate some of the extra effort and "funny" moves of many classic coin effects to allow for a smoother, cleaner, and overall more impressive presentation. Some highly skilled sleight of handers might snub this a being a "cheaters" device; but I think that it not only creates some ease to sleight of hand involved tricks, but it also produces a more mystifying effect. However, this item doesn't so much work it self. It helps to have at least some previous familiarity, comfort, and skill with coin handling; but it can help a less skilled performer learn some pretty killer effects much more easily.

I only have a couple of minor complaints. The first is that I was under the impression that these were all manufactured as eagle backed quarters. I even read a posting by Tango himself on Magic Café saying that they were selling them as eagle quarters because of more demand, but they could be made as State quarters upon request. I was a bit disappointed to receive a State backed quarter as I personally prefer the classier look of the old quarters. I got New Hampshire at that. Nothing wrong with that State, but it would have been neat to at least get a State I've been to or have some connection with. Just an FYI to anyone ordering this and expecting an eagle quarter; you might get a State one. However, not upsetting enough to send it back, and it makes it seem somewhat less suspicious. Another problem is that this quarter is only semi-examinable, and I would recommend allowing a spectator to view it from the back for only a couple of seconds with at least a 2 foot distance; and never let them handle it. Tango has some spectators handling it in a few demonstrations, but I think this is way to risky to pull off if you really don't want to get caught. There are even a couple of performances on the DVD that I wouldn't even bother to try because I think it would look too obvious. That being said, I still give it 5 stars because I can't think of a better way to construct the gimmick that would still be as smooth and versatile as this.

The TUC is a fine gimmick, but it is a bit loud, and you need to switch it with a regular coin to show to the spectator. A plus is that you get the Tangopedia Website with a lot of material. But the website is more Spanish than English, so subtitles would be nice. Maybe they will m get that in the future.

An coin magician needs the TUC. It comes with a gaffed card that is very good and the coin on its self is amazing. The DVD has many routines. My favorites are coins across, chink a chink, and matrix reverse. The only problem I had with it was a got a State quarter in stead of the quarter with the eagle on the back. You must buy it.

The coin itself is alright. It's not examinable at all and even tossing it from one hand to another makes noise. Unfortunately I was very disappointed that the shimmed card that came with it had dried glue all over the back and was glued uneven. For $60 you would think that the shimmed card would be impeccable. This is very sloppy as the shimmed card is necessary for some of the routines. I BELIEVE PENGUIN SHOULD SEND ME ANOTHER SHIMMED CARD FOR FREE.

The TUC ( Tango Ultimate Coin ) has raised the bar for gaff coins. Matrix, 3 Fly, Coins Accross, all take on a more magical look thanks to the TUC.

Makes impossible-looking feats easy. The coin does "talk" a bit, but that can be eliminated with proper handling and presentation. Add this to your coin routine.

I like the tuc coin... Though I have the tuc half dollar and prefer it because it separates easier then the quarter making many routines easier to pull off... The quarter I give for stars the have I give five.
