I was reading other reviews on this chop cup and I gotta say that yes the secret can be a little strong. But if you do your homework and fool around with adjusting the ball it works perfect. I mean come on, I see too many people complaining when they get a new prop or new trick and it isn't absolutely perfect right out of the gate. We are magicians, everything we do takes work and practice and it takes TIME to figure this stuff out to get it to work the way we want them to for our own style and needs. Stop complaining so much and out the work in to figure it out.

Here is my honest opinion about this chop cup:
Cup- it's aluminum. It's going to be on the lighter side and isn't going to be a heavy brass or copper cup, but I can assure you this is a great cup with the ability to handle great final loads for the ending of your routine. And for spun aluminum, this cup is built to last. Great job by IPP.
Balls- the gimmicked ball can be adjusted. Mine was on the stronger side just like other buyers was, but all it took was a simple tweak and now it works to my needs. Both balls are good quality, but if you do not want to adjust them, just buy a set of balls that are heavier and that should help with the dislodging.

Overall this is a great set for the price and especially for someone wanting to get into the chop cup. Add it to cart, buy it, play with it, make it your own and enjoy performing it for spectators. It's a great trick.

The Ickle Pickle wide mouth chop cup is an excellent chop cup: it is well spun, the plate thickness is right (it will not dent so easily), the gimmick is well hidden and has the right strength. It also can receive large loads (I use mid sized apples) and comes with two good quality balls. It comes with a small bag too.
Sure, this is aluminium, and I would have prefered copper for the extra weight. But this chop cup looks innocent enough so as not arise suspicion from laymen, and it works pretty well!
This is all I need, and it is a definitive keeper, particularly at this price!

I've had the Morrissey chop cup for ages, and I enjoy it, but the grocery store near me in NYC has freakishly HUGE lemons, and it's an anticlimax when they get jammed in the chop cup for the reveal of the final loads. I bought this Ickle Pickle Chop Cup at Penguin for an awesome price and was very happy. Every lemon I tried out in the store fit like a charm! I even tried oranges and (the ones I tried) fit! Nice product at a reasonable price!

I have recently purchased this chop and can honestly say that it's pure gold. You will have a powerhouse routine at your disposal and a chop cup that won't let you down. I would advise picking up Mark James's supercharged classics Vol. 1 his approach is worthy of your attention. Best of luck. Also consider the chop cup miniature base balls. Really great for the price! It can facilitate loads as large as a tennis ball, and the gimmick works very cleanly and quietly. The reason for the 3 star rating is because it's only made from a very cheap aluminum. Also, when I received it there were some cosmetic defects, such as a few scratches down the length of the cup, as well as the carrying bag being ripped a little and frayed at the seam. It does get the job done very well however, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone who wants a really nice cheap Chop Cup.

I absolutely love this style of chop cup it's lightweight and holds a lemon comfortably. Am attractive price also makes this purchase a no brainer in my opinion

This is my first chop cup, as others have mentioned it is a little sticky but is still quite usable. The construction is great, nothing hints at the built in gimmick. WONDERFUL for large loads, I was slipping oranges in within a couple hours of practice unnoticed.

As others have mentioned here, the secret is a bit too strong. I eventually bought an adjustable ball from another vendor, for half again as much as this costs.

That said, I love the cup. If I keep doing it and get good at it I'll invest in a serious cup, but this is terrific to determine if it's right for me.

Definitely my chop cup of choice. The size allows you to end up with some great final loads like a baseball or large lemon or orange. The balls that come with it are okay, but I replaced them quickly with heavier ones and it works like a charm. The included ones make you have to really slam the cup down to make the magic happen. It is built to last and looks amazing against a dark close-up mat (or use the included storage bag for an impromptu one).
