I really like the Vernet Thumb Tip. The last one I had split at the seam after many years of use. This new one was much closer to my skin color, but I had a small problem. It did not fit far enough on my thumb to feel like it would not fall off. I tried boiling the tip until it was soft and then letting it conform to my thumb (ouch! hot,hot,hot!) However, it did not stretch enough to feel secure. I was afraid it would fall off with a silk in it. To fix this, I used a small amount of tacky glue my wife uses for sewing. It made the tip feel more secure on my thumb and almost invisible to spot. The glue was also great on my Scotch and Soda coins which were almost falling apart.

I've recently started to really love thumb tips. I buy a lot of expensive magic that I think is killer--but, time and time again, spectators' minds completely melt down over effects created with this under $3 device!

This would get 5 stars if they didn't go and change it. The color now is slightly lighter and the tip itself is slightly shorter--only by a few millimeters. It makes almost no difference in most effects, but I just don't like how tight the fit is with a folded up bill (the bottom of the bill could peek if you're not careful).

Other than that, this is solid.

I have found this brand to be the most realistic, best fitting and consistent over the years.

Even though the color on this item isn't exactly correct to my skin, using all the moves you can very effectively hide this TT. A great utility item that every magician should definitely own and use, so many possibilities with one simple item.

I had one of these as my first magic trick back when I was a kid. The one I just got is exactly like I remember it, if not a little better.

One thing is that the color feels a little dark and there is a visible seam from the casting of the mold so this is a little bit annoying, but not really noticeable.

If you're looking for a good silk to use with this item then I would recommend going with something rather small like a 6" silk, my other ones seem a bit too big.

I cut mine down and made a swami out of it. Works terrific.

Out of all the different thumb tips that I've tried in the past, Vernet seems to be the best. I was actually given a Vernet thumb tip from a magician friend of mine and I fell in love with it right away. The detail is pretty good, and I find for myself that these are a close match to my skin tone, but of course it will probably be different for you. The color isn't an exact but when I move my hands, I can't even notice. For the price listed, this is a steal. Every magician should have one of these so be sure to pick one up with your next order.

It's long enough for the hundred dollar bill switch and Magick Balay's great routine, which is what I use it for, but it also works to vanish a sponge ball. I don't understand the comments about the color. Everyone's skin is a different shade. The gimmick hides in plain sight because most people don't know about it and if you use it properly it goes unnoticed. I've had no reason to complain. The most fun you can have with a piece of kit for less than three dollars

Do you have thumb tips that are slightly wider in diameter?

In mu humble opinion, I find this to be the best trick/gimmick in the world. So versatile you can perfrom a 30m to 45m show using just this gimmick. Recommended for young, old inexperienced and/or very experienced.
