spRing is a long-forgotten puzzle that's been reworked into one of the most classic and iconic plots in magic - the linking rings.

Imagine being able to effortlessly melt a solid ring into the very coils of a tightly wound spring with a visually pleasing and buttery smooth penetration that's done without any help of the methods typically seen in the traditional linking rings.

In fact, there is nothing to ditch or hide, and you can hand out spRing immediately before, after, and even during your performance if you so choose.

spRing is incredibly easy to perform - it will take you minutes to understand the secret and only hours to master. It's also suitable for any type of performance and venue.

Here's what you get:

  • 2 high quality props
  • 45 minutes of expert instruction that includes a multi-phase routine and many alternative handlings to craft a performance suited for you.
  • Peace of mind of knowing that you'll never have to hide any gaps or extra rings
spRing has not been made for everyday carry in mind but this is something you'll want to carry every day!

This is an enigma...
That's wrapped in a puzzle...
That's trapped in a spring...

Welcome to Joonas Mengel's spRing.

I know your first reaction, same as mine - This is the little trick came with my first magic set, it won't fool anybody.
First, the spring is larger and, second, the ring is larger. It has been made into something that is a piece of apparatus that looks more than what the little spring/ring is that you get in the magic kits.
Second, the routines are GREAT! This has a great teaching video that you can download that teaches you great routines and how to present them.
This takes the little puzzle and turns it into an entertaining magic routine.
Use it table to table as a nice magical variation from the standard deck of cards.

Do NOT underestimate this as a trick. You WILL use it!

5 - Stars for Prop, 4-Stars for Presentation Report this review

I've a decent collection of ring & spring versions and from that standpoint, this product is the best for carry and performing. The usual ring is instead a larger sized hoop which is more visual and contrasting in size to the spring. For visual aspects, this is great and both operate together very well. For the best version to carry and actually use, in my opinion this is it. So, $30 plus shipping? That's kinda steep for what it is, but it is the best version if you'd like to have one for carry. It does come very nicely packaged.

I'm not a fan of the presentation given but I'm not a fan of the 'See what I did? Try it, what, you can't do it? Here, like this, easy. Still can't, no it's simple, like this, etc.' It's too much 'See how awesome I am' and almost bullying (once again in my opinion), the spectator possibly 'OK, I get your point, you can but I can't', the magician unknowingly badgering them. I use a presentation a local magic mentor taught me which combines the puzzle aspect with linking and unlinking illusions mixed in. The larger hoop allows this aspect even better than any other version.

Excellent Report this review

It might look at first glance like a kid's trick but it's something really very clever. The ring and spring are quality gimmicks that, by themselves, will misdirect your audiences because they are not prepped to know what to look for, like with a deck of cards, so the magic move is hidden in plain sight.

It's also a trick that can be done very quickly, or at length with some clever routines.

Instructions are clear, and very good.

This one won't go into the magic drawer as one that looked good in the ad demo but stinks in real life. I've got plenty of those too. This is a good one that's not just another card trick.

Great Update to a Classic Trick Report this review

I bought this as kind of an opener to a linking rings routine, and I must say. It exceeded all of my expectations! I will agree with one of the reviewers who said the ring’s weld is a little lumpy, but it’s not noticeable when performing. I even thought maybe you could point that part out and say that people usually do this with a gap in the ring, so you wanted to challenge yourself and welded it closed. Giving them a fake method puts doubts in the spectator’s mind as to how it’s done.

The teaching is top notch (as are most of Javier Fuenmayor’s tutorials), he had some great ideas to make this even more deceptive. I’m telling you, this is really cool stuff. Just ignore everything in your head saying this is included in beginner magic sets. So are the cups and balls, and the linking rings! We still perform them. Our jobs are to entertain, and this is very entertaining in the right hands! This could be a quick opener or a longer routine. Whatever you want to make it.

Yes it’s an old trick brought up to modern eyes . And what a fabulous job.
The concept is clean and easy …..the new moves are a joy. The props are perfectly packed and made… BUt here is the Big and I mean Big plus…
Wait for it…. Wait for it !
The video instructions are TERRIFIC.
Well made, intelligent verbal and visual discussions of handling’s and to wrap it in a bow… the gentleman from Murphy’s Magic is actually having a great time showing how it all happens… even tells the truth( what! )when he tells us his one handling still needs some practice .
An old broom sweeps best!!!!
This old kids trick has graduated to Bravo.
I’m impressed. Taking something small, old and a toss away and making it impossible not to love this .
