I’ve only owned BOARDING PASS for a short time (purchased from Penguin) but have “tested it out” myself numerous times and have done about a dozen live presentations to others. I have no affiliation with the creator. Please accept my comments as a small sampling but perhaps these notes will be of value to some:

1.) I consider my money well spent. This is a clever product in that the boarding passes themselves, used in conjunction with QR codes, seem commonplace --- until something very uncommon occurs! There is plenty of flexibility for creativity in patter and presentation.

2.) The technology used (which is admittedly above my head) works and it is not likely to draw heat from spectators and participants. Moreover: it comes with everything you need. Extra apps, etc., are not required.

3.) You can do this solo or with an assistant. The use of an assistant in this instance is merely an elective stylistic choice not something that suggests solo challenges. You can do it all on your own with no difficulties.

4.) As noted on some magic chatrooms and supply company websites: in the solo version you do have to do something with your own phone. HOWEVER – what needs to happen can so easily be integrated with the patter of the routine that it will seem very natural. The creator details handling here but there is also a way, undiscussed in the tutorial as far as I can tell, of introducing your phone prior to even bringing out the boarding passes. That causes the use of one’s own phone to seem like a very innocent part of what happens next. I can’t say more because it would go too much to method, but anyone owning this effect will probably realize this sequence of actions after experimenting a few times. This is the aspect of BOARDING PASS that concerned me the most prior to receiving it. I worried that there would be clunky moves required. In reality, there are smooth ways to accommodate all that needs to be done.

5.) The focus of the effect quickly turns to the participant’s own phone --- and NO, you do not need to touch that person’s device.

In conclusion: this is (in my opinion) a very effective combination of mentalism built-into clever and (in my experience) reliable, easy-to-use technology.

I received it last night and have performed three times already today. it is absolutely unbelievably fantastic. I still can’t get over the fact how easy it is to use and how incredibly unbelievable it is. if I’m doing it by myself on myself, I’m still surprising myself, it is that bloody good.
Yes, you need to covertly input something, but it is so easy that it will be almost like childsplay. Spectators can use their own phone , their own camera and will be able to check the results themselves. It’s an absolute killer. I don’t know why it’s not getting the hype it deserves but I’m glad it’s not getting it so I can keep it to myself.

This effect requires so much fiddling if you are using an Android and don't have Safari....a terrible app in and of itself. The app for Boarding Pass, once you finally get it on your phone, is unwieldy and your phone "stalls" and needs to be restarted each time you use it. Not practical at all. You'll notice in the video, that Mariano uses a separate phone than his regular phone (red vs black) while performing the effect, most likely because he too finds this cell phone stalling issue a pita.....That makes it weird for the spectator. There's too much "fishing and fiddling" while you secretly type in their stated destination...the ruse is just not believable I won't be using this product.

Although I won’t show as a “Verified Buyer” here on Penguin, I did obtain Boarding Pass directly from Mariano.

I work for an airline that wasn’t represented in the three passes included with the effect. Naturally, I want to perform this for my Co-Workers, but with our airline information on the pass. It was an unusual request, but Mariano created three custom passes at an affordable price (it was more than the marketed effect of course, but the price was very fair for three custom professional grade magic props).

We went back and forth on ideas for the passes for a few days, so he took a lot of time thinking about the small details. The effect is top notch, and I completely echo all of Mark’s sentiments with his review.

I just felt like Mariano’s Customer Service needed a big shout out as well as his incredible effect!

Buy this from Penguin or reach out to Mariano for custom passes, you’ll be happy either way.

This is a great example of the organic use of a spectator's phone in a trick. It's quite natural to check a flight using a QR code and the fact that this is completely hands off makes it that much more believable. It's a solid little prediction effect that pairs well with other travel-themed tricks like Stockman's Middle Seat or Romhany's Travel Book Test.

I dont know what the negative reviewer is talking about - this is a website ... not an app. Nothing to install. You type one thing into your phone and then the spectator does the rest with their phone! The performer in the tutorial uses 2 phones because it's a 2 phone trick! LOL - this works 100% as long as both of you have a signal. So easy and so fun

This is one great trick with multiple options to perform. This is definitely a keeper. I had several questions that I emailed to Mariano and he was quick to respond which I totally appreciated. Highly recommend.
