Lucky Ladybug is an adorable piece of magic that instantaneously brings a smile to the spectator's
face. The effect is straightforward and easy for the audience to follow. The magical appearance of
the wooden three dimensional, hand painted model on the back of their han creates instant surprise
and joy. As my wife said "This is the cutest magic I have ever seen!"
I remember when Jim
Pace's The Web first came on the scene twenty-five years or so ago. The appearing spider (and
numerous other variations of scary and gross critters) quickly became popular due to the visceral
reaction created. It was dubbed "the scariest magic trick of all time". The Web is still a lot of
fun to perform but care must be taken on who it is performed for, where and when. While great for
Halloween parties where people expect a fright, in many settings (restaurants, church functions,
etc.) it just isn't appropriate.
Lucky Ladybug gets around all of these limitations. It
produces the same level of surprise, but instead of being scary it is charming. There is really no
limitation as to where, when, or to whom it can be performed. And at the end, you are gifting them
the Ladybug, a wonderful reminder of this magic moment. It is so much better than a folded card! The
only thing near comparable that I can think of is Abigail Spinner's (McBride) magic bubble routine
where a "wish" bubble solidifies into a marble.
Another great thing about this routine is
that most magicians will be able to start using it immediately. 99%+ of magicians will already know
and be comfortable with the move to accomplish the vanish the Ladybug from the card. That leaves
only the handling and timing nuances for the appearance of the ladybug on the hand. Joshua does a
great job of explaining this in the tutorial. Never has so much impact been gotten for so little
work!
50 pack refills of ladybugs are available for $5, so this won't break the bank.
I am already using this as my primary "quick piece" of magic when meeting people. From the
reactions I've received so far, I am confident that it is helping land more gigs. I am even thinking
about getting business cards printed where one side is a "garden" for the ladybug with the other
having my website information. This way kids can keep it like the pet rocks of the 70s and parents
will know how to contact me when it comes time for that birthday or holiday party.
Highly
recommend

This arrived last week from Penguin. The Tutorial is quick and to the point-- very well done and
provides an excellent presentation I can work around. I immediately performed it out that night. I
am not a comedy style Magician and bought this more for kids etc. But, performing it to 3 random
people at a restaurant--Wow-- the reactions were fantastic. This is a true gem. So simple yet very
powerful. And getting the ladybug to "appear" is very easy to do-- This is an effect that people
seem to really love. Will always have this in my close-up case now. A+.

This is my fist review for a trick although I have as of today 455 downloads of tricks and lectures,
I have found something to say about this trick in particular. I remember in the 90's when the Web by
Jim Pace came out it was a killer! I had people screaming and jumping all over the place. I was in
my 20's and it didn't "Offend" anyone. Now I'm in my 50's and I have grandchildren and a lot of
things have changed. As a magician that works family restaurants this will be the NEW KILLER! What I
am mostly pleased with is that you get 21, YES 21 ladybug souvenirs to give away if you wish to do
so. I look forward to purchasing a few more as you know if you have been in the business long enough
tricks get discontinued. I highly recommend this if you work restaurant's, cocktail parties and
birthday parties.

Well made stock cards! Such a beautiful effect and kids and adults love it! Nice job Joshua Ray
and Deuce Gala!
Fortunately the tutorial gives several ways to handle the Ladybug, however for me, the first method
is tricky because of the small size of the Ladybug and I do have reasonably good dexterity. Very
good reactions with the Ladybug and worth the tutorial.
Incidentally, you can purchase 100 MINI
Ladybugs on Amazon for $5.99
