Good Basics On The Business Of Restaurant Magic Report this review

This DVD set gives some good fundamentals on the business side of restuarant magic, however if you are looking for strong restaurant magic you're better off looking elsewhere. Most of the routines are pretty basic and lack a lot of punch. The best effect in my opinion is the bill in the sugar packet effect. If you're looking for the business/admin side of the work, this is a good place to start.

Strong video on the BUSINESS of restaurant work Report this review

If you are interested in learning how to get into restaurant work, this video has some great insights. It covers how to get gigs, how to keep gigs, how to get a long with the wait staff, etc, etc, etc. This part of the video is very valuable.

The video also teaches some effects, and there are a couple (1-3) routines which I really liked, the best of which is a bill in sugar packet effect which I thought was very strong.

The only downside to this video set was the price. I thought it is a little pricey for what it is...however, if it helps you get one show then it pays for itself for sure.

This DVD is one of the better productions on Restaurant Magic. I've always been interested in it so I've gotten a lot of stuff. The quality of this surpasses anything else. But I had a few problems with it.

One problem I had, was that this lacked something. The teaching and different techniques on the actual Restaurant side of the Magic, varied a bit. It got a little hard to know what was right at a few times. They are spoken from the Magicians by opinion and facts. That was a little confusing at times. Nothing was really "definite".

These DVDs are split up nicely though. I found that to be a plus. Disc 1 goes over the beginning stages. So before you start learning the different tricks and such, it lets you know what Restaurants can do for you and the other things like that. Disc 2 is when you are actually at a restaurant and don't know what to do. And then 3 goes over the "odds and ends" of working restaurants.

The performances and teaching were my favorite. I can sit and watch these all day. Some were pretty long, some were shorter. They begin with a full set. Everything from walking up to leaving. These are for "real" people in the restaurant and you can see how these guys alll interact and get the audience involved. That was really cool. No cut aways or special editing. It was a full performance filmed from a camera stationary on a tripod. Then they brought each of them in on turn to the studio. This is of course the same studio we see in every other Kozmo product. Everything was taught in good detail with information about restaurants in them. What works good, why they do things the way they do etc.

SO that's it I guess. If you want to learn a lot about Restaurant Magic, pick up this DVD set. It's really cheap for what you get, and you could charge triple the price at a paying Restaurant so it's worth it.
