FINALLY HERE! In this long awaited DVD release, John Lovick (Handsome Jack) covers every detail: the handling, motivation, timing, subtlety and psychology. Nothing is left out!

Thorough explanations and over-the-shoulder camera angles ensure you'll master this routine in no time.

PLUS, as a special bonus, you'll see how good this routine really is under real world conditions - John performs the Reparation at the Magic Castle in front of a live audience.

This captivating creation has become the highlight of John's act. The routine will take some practice to master, BUT it's the easiest PIECE BY PIECE restoration of it's kind.

"I've learned the "others" and they're very good, but they make my fingers tremble and ache. The Reparation much much easier and 'do-able.' In a nutshell, this is one that will become part of your working repertoire."

I want to start out by saying that this trick does require a lot of practice, and I mean a lot. Once you've got it down though, you've got one of those rare pieces of magic that will last in a spectators mind for a long time. When they see their signed cards ripped up and then restored, it's just incomprehensible. If you are thinking about getting a torn and restored routine, think about getting this one.

Complicated but worth it Report this review

This is one of my favorite torn/restored card effects ,and it is especially powerful for stage and parlor magic. the peice by peice restoration is beautiful without too much slight of hand. the only draw back is the complexixty of the routine in the sense of memorizing all the steps, but once you get it the trick will flow nicely

Nice reparation effect. It is semi impromptu. Some setup is required, but no gadgets, gimmicks, or anything extra. I can't be specific without revealing the method

The method is simple. It is a tad bit sensitive to angles in that people behind you can catch you flashing. This can be easily fixed by modifying the handling. Lovick may have mentioned it in the video

I watched it two or three times and was able to practice on my own without after. It's not that the effect is that simple or amateurish - the effect would belong in a professionals repertoire - but the teaching is that good. He is clear concise, and humorous

Get this if you need a T&R effect in your arsenal. I own a lot of DVD's and books on magic and this is one of the better ones out there. It is a one trick DVD, but if you want to learn this effect, this DVD will do the job very well

Very good! Report this review

The method for this T&R is really good, although I prefer Yves Doumergue's Ripped & Restored. Mr. Lovick is actually quite funny (totally opposite of my first impression) in performance. Although the mechanics will require some practice, this should be within the range of intermediate magicians.

Just Amazing! Report this review

This is by far the best torn and restored card trick ever!

I have seen many but the way this is delivered is pure genius from the handling, patter and timing.

Because Handsome makes it look so easy, you might think it is easy to do but anyone who masters this trick deserves the reactions they are sure to get throughout their performing career.

BETTER THAN EXPECTED Report this review

After seeing so many T&R effects this one is so practical that I was surprised a bit. I have always liked being able to hand out something for an audience member to take home-This has that advantage. I like ending clean-This does.
I like using my normal cards, even my older, used cards-This has it covered.
John's DVD is well taught with not only good performance tips but a little (non-distracting) humor peppered in as well.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea due to the numerous steps of performance, but like any long trip the destination is worthwhile.

Extremely practical version of the T&R theme Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on December 21st, 2004
The "Torn and Restored Piece by Piece" theme is certainly not new, but many of the routines out there are either too difficult to do or too impractical in one way or the other. John Lovick has done an amazing job simplifying such a routine. The moves are not difficult, and you can focus on your presentations and getting great reactions from your audience. This video was previously available on tape, now the DVD version will serve as a valuable reference in your performance repertoire.

Incredible Report this review

It's really simple. A bit tricky to learn but not hard once you get it down. Plus Lovick is really funny. From the demo I expected him to be kinda dull but I was really suprised when I watch the video. Five Stars!
