Not earth shattering but good to have in the armoury for that moment when someone says, "Show us a
trick". The moves are a bit contrived but the end result provides a nice WOW moment.
One small
gripe: the audience reaction in the trailer and in the full performance on the download is
ridiculous. They break out in manic laughter, yet there is nothing comic in the trick at all. Too
many trailers include this sort of gross over reaction. Magicians are intelligent people and should
not be treated like idiots.
Nathan's teaching and the video quality are excellent.
I totally agree. Most if not all trailers show people laughing and in total awe of the effect. I consider myself a fairly good magician and I do close-up work in restaurants and I do not get the huge laughter and wows as I see on the trailer. Honestly, I look for the effect and I make a point to look over the extreme laughter and awes by spectators.
Hate to say it, but most of these tricks are filmed in bars where the clientele is a bit inebriated, hence the over-the-top reactions.
