This is a very interesting tool!
So, my first impression as soon as I opened the package was that the ‘pen’ was made of a cheap material. It actually is! LOL. Is that a problem? Not at all! It’s meant to be like that. It looks like an innocent generic black marker, a very cheap one, exactly because you don’t want to draw anyone’s attention to it before the effect. In case people want to grab and see where the fireballs came from, you also receive a completely normal black marker, just ditch the gimmicked one and give the real one for examination.
Questions fellow magicians might have:
1) it does use a heater coil. Actually a double one. Will it last? I wonder that too and hope so. You are provided with a soft brush, so the chamber or the loading compartment can be cleaned after the blow, like a real gun. Heater coils stuff scares us, but I believe if used as taught, not overloading, cleaning after a use or two, not pushing it too hard and etc, it will last a long long time.
2) does it have to be black flash paper? Not at all! I’ve tested with different white ones from different sources/countries and it worked like a charm. Black is recommended if you want an extra disguise, not important in my honest opinion, because people can’t see it inside the chamber.
3) yes it goes pretty far! It’s exciting!!😂 I got really impressed about the distance. It was the best part!
4) is it better than other existing models? Well, I believe it’s pretty much the same idea. I have the Pyro Pen from Adam Wilber and also love it. Without going into too much detail, it’s made from a Sharpie marker and is a replica of a real one. But this is not produced anymore (I believe for legal reasons) and is hard to find. Due to that fact, Flare is an excellent option!
5) it does look like a James Bond item! The way you turn the pen on reminded of Boris exploding himself in 007 Golden Eye (spoiler alert!). But don’t get me wrong, you won’t explode anything, it’s just the way the pen is turned on. To shoot requires another kind of activation.
Hope have helped!

How many shots does it do before reloading. How long and hard to reload?

I don’t have one but reading the comments, it is a one shot deal. After using it once it must be reloaded, and they recommment cleaning it often
