This is a typical "think outside the box" Matt Mello effect where he takes an ancient gimmick and repurposes it. As coin bends go, this one is fairly easy, relying on the gimmick and one small bit of easy sleight of hand. (The gimmick does not do a real-time bend. If you are looking for a gimmick to do that, Ox Bender is your best bet.) The routine is confounding and effective. You can't ask for more than that.
