Got it yesterday. You need an Apple or Android phone with Bluetooth to download an App so you can change messages, deigns, colors, etc. If you just turn the spinner on it defaults to the 3 of Hearts. After you setup your message / various designs, color, then that message / design will stay in the spinner's memory, even when the cell phone / Bluetooth is off. Many possibilities with this new improved version of the Spinner.
