Hey everyone
The Hot rod pen is one of those tricks you can do anywhere you go. When I
first started magic, I picked this up and began performing it within a few hours. Thats without
any prior magic training.
I first saw this trick done by a Sunday School teacher (after
church). I hadnt the foggiest notion of how it was done.
Pros:
1. Not too difficult
2. Fun to do. Only one real move to learn.
Cons:
1. I have been caught once doing
it. Why? Because I got sloppy and repeated it to one guy. Keep it clean, and dont repeat the
trick (like you should almost never do) and youll LOVE IT!
My overall take: I enjoyed
preforming it when I did it. I have since then dropped it for harder hitting and more specialized
effects. If you like the demo, go for it. If you do pen tricks (such as pen through dollar) then go
for it.

This was okay for a walk around. Any trick he uses it every day object has the potential for a big
impact. I like the fact that I can carry this in my pocket. It is very limited since you cannot
handed out for inspection. Penguin does a great job teaching performance. The form is also very
useful for creative ideas.

This is just okay, but probably worth the few bucks that it costs. Pretty easy to perform, and
fully examinable in the end.

This is just like a hot rod. Which can be a fun affect to perform and is a staple in magic, but the
pen is not the best quality. I thought it would look like a better pen.
But if you want a
hot rod on a pen then it is good.

This is a fantastic spin on a classic in magic! It always gets fantastic reactions so long as you
don't repeat it for the same people. Really great little effect that packs big! I would highly
recommend it! Add to cart!

A great trick for walk around magic or during breaks at school. The move is simple but effective.
You simply show six coloured dots on both side of the pen. The spectator picks a number and you
count it out. Suddenly, every dot on both sides of the pen turns to that colour. It is a very simple
trick so don't expect to get huge reactions from it, but it's still fun to perform.

I like the hot rod as a stepping stone to the color changing knife and other paddle move effects. So
this is a nice entry level trick for kids, and my grandson loved it
Gave these for Christmas
Well received and easy to understand for the young magi
I give the hot rod pen by magic makers a five star rating because it's a great wtf moment. Their is
one this that is not so good which is u can't do this trick twice to the same person. The way this
is done is very simple and the spectator will never!! Figure out how u perform this miracle. In ten
minutes u take it out of the packaging u will be able to blow minds and perform it. It's a great
effect the method is the same as the hot rod and search engine pen. I think it's better than the hot
rod because it's a pen not a wood plastic or aluminum stick go get one today😃😃
if you like hot rods this is a great new way to perform it with a more subtle gimmick then the
original hot rod, side note great intruction by penguin
