Make a signed bill vanish from underneath any cup, and then reappear at your command. Just when your audience thinks you’re out of tricks, a lemon appears inside the cup, and inside the lemon is the signed bill. This is a real worker that gets huge reactions. This is Chop by Craig Petty.

Here’s what happens:

A bill is borrowed, signed, and scrunched into a small ball. An ordinary coffee cup is examined by your spectators. The bill vanishes from the cup, only to reappear with a snap of your fingers. The bill is put back in the cup, and it vanishes again. The cup is placed on the spectator’s hands and impossibly reappears at your command, or the command of your spectator. The bill vanishes again, and when the cup is lifted, a lemon is found underneath the cup. The lemon can be examined and shown to be ordinary. You then cut open the lemon, and inside is the signed bill.

I’m a big fan of Craig Petty, his trick is first rate. Craig’s teaching is perfect. Several new options and routines for the gimmick were explained.

I have the original version and the the $40.00 price tag is the most I’ve paid for a download. Confirmed owners should have been given a download option at a reduced price. The gimmicks are identical.

For those who have not purchased the original, the asking price is well worth it.

I have used a chop cup routine for many years and wanted to use a normal coffee cup or glass. This is an excellent routine to start with in developing a impromptu chop cup routine that could be done at anytime with items on hand. The gimmick will work for most porcelain coffee cups. Most of the basic moves are well covered. If you are interested in developing an impromptu version of the chop cup, I would recommend this one.

Own the original chop product. and it is really amazing!
Hoped, that the 2.0 version would have good additions as anounced and is has. Card to mystery-box and coin flight. the withdrawel of a star is because of a poor quality video without a menu (I happily have a dvd from the first version)and only one camerasetting everything in a enthusiastic hasty manner for the additions. have not seen the main routine yet. Hope there are more detailed finesses. Like the high-quality teaching-videos from Kim Anderson for instance with important explanations of details in handling and close-up, over-the-shoulder camera-shootings or Adam Wilber´s. They are much more faszinating to watch.
But the trick itself is really, really good.

After watching the performance a couple of times I had guessed the basic principle of the gimmick but the joy of this trick isn’t the” how” it’s the brilliant way that Craig implements and executes it. I hate doing tricks that involve “magic props” whether that prop be a cabinet that cuts a lady in half or a fancy cup - I feel that even genuine props will always be viewed as suspect if provided by the magician. This tool not only allows a routine that uses borrowed familiar props, I truly believe that this version is also superior to the classic that inspired it.

With that said, the prop itself is also of the highest quality and performs without fail every time. This is, without doubt, one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

I love effects that can come off as spontaneous miracles and this is one. With something you’re carrying around with you anyway and probably using in other effects you borrow other items that the spectator knows can’t be props, and fly so far under the radar to blow minds. It’s well made. I do wonder how long it will last as far as a regular every day item. ( I’m trying not to give away the method here). Once you can’t use it as something normal you sort of lose the reason for even having it out. With that in mind it would be nice to be able to refill without having to re-purchase the whole effect. The teaching is fantastic which has been consistent with the effects Craig puts out ( he does talk fast!). I’m really glad I purchased this because I’ll use it even in casual settings.

Brilliant Connection With Signed Bill To Lemon Report this review

I have been out of magic for about 20 years. My family always encouraged me to return. The trick that has had a lasting impact on them was the bill in lemon. They reminiscence about that trick all the time. Well, I finally made my comeback and with dominating fashion thanks to Craig Petty's Chop. There is something about that bill in lemon that etches into the mind of the spectator.

Craig Petty offers a lot of instruction and features alternative options for creating your own routine. I chose 3 of the 11 moves in order to create a quick and comical routine. In short, I am grateful for Craig Petty sharing his intellectual content. It is surely going to make a lot of people happy. 5 Stars.

I never bought the original, but the video explains the additions which are beyond the original routine;a more organic Mystery Box variation, spongeball transpo and a nice coins across. Definitely a great value, nice to see a product revamped with new innovations and not just repackging. I'm very pleased with the evolution of Craig Petty and am a new supporter of his brand.

I had to think a while before giving this review. The routines are great, the moves are great, but I promise you're not going to look natural right out of the box. I recommend you not watch the video until you have the product. Seeing the moves beforehand will condition you to know what the moves "should" look like. You have to adapt. I love the versatility and highly suggest coming up with your own routine. If you haven't already figured out the method, it's a good one. The gimmicks are extremely justified and will fly right under their noses. If you are looking for something to supplement your sleight of hand, or simply want something extremely clean to play around with, CHOP is for you!

This is what I, and probably you, have been waiting for, for the last 50 years. (or longer)
Semi-Automatic Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious beautiful trick that is sooooooo natural, and so organic and nothing looks like it "came from a magic shop".
All of the elements of the universe came together to perfectly work as it should.
If Tommy Lee Jones were to buy this trick, he'd holler: "It's pretty slick, Slick".
Mind expanding routines that will allow you create and make magic on the fly. You dont NEED to stick to an exact routine. Can be short or long. THIS is a magic arsenal.
