This can't be anything like the original. The routine requires a specific move which would be no trouble with ordinary cards of normal thickness. However, the stock used for this release is a thick board at least four times the thickness of normal stick used for this sized card. That particular move is impossible with these cards. The host suggests working the cards in to create a flex point. I tried that, all of hit were huge creases in the cards down the center. This release in totally useless. I like the presentation but the props are just too poorly designed for it to work.

Every magician knows Daryl and knows that his routines are solid workhorses. The Whole Thing is no exception, the routine is wonderful, pure Daryl through and through. The craftsmanship of these cards on the other hand, is shoddy at best. Before ever removing the cards from the cellophane sleeve, I could see that the red ink was chipped in some areas on one card. Upon removing the cards, it turns out it's chipped on multiple cards, sticking to other cards where it shouldn't be, and overall I can't believe that Daryl would have wanted his name on this release version. So now I either go over my brand new purchase with red and white nail polish/markers, or I toss this one in a drawer and never touch it. Not a good feeling on a brand new purchase.
