MINGLING FOR DOLLARS: THE WALK-AROUND MENTALISM EDGE
Brett Barry has for years been known one of the USA’s busiest corporate mentalists, but specializing in mingling entertainment. In this class Brett will explain the business side advantages of mystery performers differentiating themselves as Mentalists in their city, allowing them to charge far higher fees then local magicians competition. Brett will go over the business side of the importance of speedy follow-up on leads, contacting & following up with booking companies, online leads sites (which sites work best?), destination management companies, and much more. He will go over handling objections (price) and will also tip the app that he uses over the phone to close over 90% of leads, letting the class experience a customer phone call. Brett had a 25 year background in sales prior to becoming a full time performer in 2012.

THE MINGLING APPROACH
Which effects work best for walk-around mentalism? In this class Brett Barry will briefly go over the various effects he brings to a corporate event, why he always wears a suit, HOW he carries his effects, HOW MANY effects he carries, and explain why it is so critical to use a very hard-hitting effect as an opener. Brett will explain his way of approaching groups of people at high-end or corporate events, what he says to break the ice, and why its NOT always a good idea to hand out your business card (even if they ask!). Brett will review how many effects to do for each group, and the techniques he uses to bring people together while mingling to take them from skeptical to stoked. He will also explain how to handle drunk or difficult attendees. Brett will explain his persona, and why it’s important for a mingling mentalist to know their character.

THE BOOK TEST PRIMER
Are you addicted to book tests? In this fun class Mentalist Brett Barry will show you how mingling mentalism + book tests = a super-powerful combination! Brett will explain why it’s usually never wise to BEGIN a strolling set with a book test, but how a book test can have a BIG impact if used well. Brett will go over his preferred handlings of “The Mother Of All Book Tests” (MOABT) pocket edition, flashback books, his own Celebrity Presage creation, and his original handling of Steve Valentine’s “Booked” which he also often uses on stage.

SVENPADS & COIN BENDING & IMPRESSION DEVICES FOR WALK-AROUND
As the originator and creator of the world famous SvenPads line of products, Brett Barry will show you some of the most high-impact ways to use your existing pads for mingling mentalism. Brett will show you powerful ways to use your pads for mind reading and fun revelations, including combing with the Rainbow gimmick. He will also demonstrate how he uses his favorite impression devices (both electronic and non) to add a big wow factor to his mingling mentalism sets. Brett will also take you step by step through his preferred handling and patter using his #1 favorite opening tool, John Sheet’s Quantum Bender.

It is mandatory that all students have a working video camera and leave it on for the duration of each class.

These sessions are not to be recorded. Please do not use Zoom’s recording feature, or third-party recording software to store these classes for later viewing.

Registration can be cancelled or changed until 5 days prior to the class start date.
