This was eye candy for me, but after working with this new version I have thrown it in my drawer and
will continue using my ten dollar plastic Bic-style version. The cap must be bent to stay on, the
barrel is difficult to control, the gimmick is CERTAINLY not inspectable as per the ad, and worse,
it came apart with the inner workings spilling on the floor. Nice concept, terrible execution of
production. So easy to conceal the gimmick with the old version... this is an "upgrade" that is
shiny, but not needed. I'll never use this.

The new pen is certainly classier, and although it is stated that it is examinable, that may be a
little hopeful. The cap does not have enough grip on the barrel to actually be able to use the clip
to hold it in your shirt pocket, and th3 pen will fall loose in your shirt possibly staining it with
ink. When the cap is fully on, it pushes the end of the gimmick past the end of the barrel and
looks a little "suspicious". The machining/assembly could have been a little more precise.
The instructional by Javi is pretty good. Several different penetrations are taught, and many
key points for the subtleties are discussed.
Is it better? Probably. Completely
examinable? Maybe, if it just a cursory, quick glance. Much more than that and you may be busted
Glad I bought it? I suppose. It's a decent attempt to get rid of the switch out necessary
for the original pen's handling, and the quality and style is definitely an upgrade. But I would be
marginally more comfortable with a duplicate ungimmicked pen to switch out. If you do pass it out,
just keep the routine moving forward and get it back as soon as you can possibly do so.

I seldom write bad reviews, but I was horribly disappointed in this purchase. Largely, because the
quality was horrible. The concept was clever, but the pen was poorly constructed--the cap falls off
easily, is poorly aligned, easily falls apart during performances, and often tears the paper or
bills. It is unfortunate that this was not better made. I feel like I was taken for $40! I will
never use this.

The Perfect Pen... NOT! The thing is a hunk of shit. If you're thinking of purchasing a pen that is
capable of this effect, do yourself a favor and get Pointless by Gregory Wilson. Pointless is a Bic
Stick that IS perfect! It can do this effect but was not designed for this effect, (so you can do a
shit ton more with Pointless) AND you CAN hand it out IMMEDIATELY for examination as it IS a normal
pen. Yes, there is a ditch involved but if you have ever seen any of Mr. Wilson's work, you'll know
how to ditch it with ZERO detection. Remember Pointless! You're welcome!

Unlike some other reviewers, I’m very much satisfied with the quality of the construction. But I
agree that pitching this as “examinable” by spectators is absurd. You might let one hold or even
write with it briefly before doing the effect, but a spectator who spends more than a few seconds
genuinely “examining” it in their own hands is very likely to discover the method. (I can imagine a
“locking” version I really would be willing to hand out, and am happy to buy if they ever decide to
manufacture one…)
The OG version, by contrast, really IS examinable as soon as you get rid
of one very easily-concealed item, and is frankly less suspicious precisely because it ISN’T a
“nice” pen but looks like a generic cheapo plastic ballpoint you could plausibly “find” or “borrow”
just before the effect.
I’m still glad to have and carry this one for contexts where a
classier looking pen is more desirable, but ultimately I expect I’ll use the original a lot more
often.

Very easy to use, and the explanation video is well done. This is my first such gimmick and I feel
the quality is top notch, I can see myself using this for years to come.

I have owned this pen for years and it has lasted through many a gig. Cornelius invented this and
the very idea all of these gimmicks use. Super value. Well made.

Some of the parts are loose and don't fit together very well. You can also notice a difference when
the pen is in it's gimmicked mode and solid examinable mode in my opinion it just looks too
suspicious. I have Tenyo's ultimate shock pen which is a few dollars cheaper and also allows you to
end clean with no extra gimmicks that you have to steal and conceal. You start with a solid
examinable pen and end with a solid examinable pen and it looks more like a real pen you could buy
in a store
