A few minuets playing around with his and you will get it. The instructions are about what you would
expect if you've bought some of this gimmicks that have been around forever, read them over quick,
and then go watch videos of people performing with them. You will learn a lot from observing other
performers after you understand the basic handling. Then it is practice and making it your own. One
thing I will say, however, is that you might want to look into various methods of aging the key. It
looks brand new and, to people who are aware of these things, obviously made using modern methods.
There is discoloring from welding on mine which is only visible on close inspection. My suggestion,
get some Rustoleum brand metallic spay paint (the dark bronze HAMMERED one is my favorite) and give
it a coat, let it dry, do the other side, repeat. After that you will have an excellent product.
This is going straight to the trash. There's nothing more expensive than a prop you have to buy
twice because the first one is crap, and magic shops don't accept returns.
This key looks
like a cheap toy prop. It's virtually impossible to control because the balance is terrible, and it
slides everywhere. The edges are sharp, the casting seam is pretty noticeable, and so is the brazing
where the key shank and ward join.
This is not the key you are looking for. The review
talking about this coming with a patina and well balanced MUST be mistaking this for the Murphy's
Magic Haunted Key Deluxe. It's $10 more but the looks, weight and balance are all better than this
key. It's well known for it's patina and exellent balance, making it a real worker. It looks and
feels like an old skeleton key that belongs in a lock. It's the easiest to control on the market
anywhere near this price.
Great prop at a great price! The length is good --- especially for my big hands. The finish is
antiqued which adds to the character and credibility as an old key. Purchase this key! it's well
worth the price.
