This is a great condensed version of Out of This World that has one tricky move you'll need to
practice. Of course, if you get the move down you'll have another great weapon in your card move
arsenal as well. For those who aren't knuckle-busters, Erik offers a very nice alternative that, to
me, actually looks a lot less suspicious than the harder move and is easier to do. You can do it
with a borrowed deck, partial deck, or whatever, and you end clean which is a nice bonus.
I think Larry Hass' "My Way Out of This World" is still my preferred version using a shuffled
deck just for the overall clean look of it, but this will be a nice alternative that has the nice
touch of you apparently never seeing the faces of the cards until you turn them over after you run
through them for the spectator. It's a nice clean trick that should floor laypeople.

I usually do not review tricks, but I felt I had to for this effect. I like both the easy and hard
version of this trick!
The trick is very direct and easy for the spectator to understand!

I'm a big fan of OOTW, but certain discrepancies discourage me from the more traditional methods.
Erik's treatment of the premise did not disappoint.
First, the work. As referenced in other
reviews, there is some practice necessary. One review even mentions that such a move can't be
learned with such a quick tutorial. I disagree. Granted, I was familiar with the necessary maneuver
to make this effect go, I found Erik's tutorial on it (at least a 10 minute explanation - that's 30%
of the total video here) very inciteful with some ideas on it I hadn't picked up from previous
sources.
Erik lays out all the mechanics for the viewer. He's not rushed. He even doubles
back to emphasize some of the finer points. For what you pay for this single effect, you get
knowledge that can be applied to numerous other applications. The ROI here is great.
And if
you aren't quite up to snuff with the initial method, Erik's alternative is an excellent option that
can still look very clean.
The effect is exactly as advertised: spectator shuffles and
freely selects. You can't get much cleaner than that. All of your handling is explained via the
patter, so there aren't any unnecessary movements.
To the rest of the video: Erik supplies
ideas for patter, credits and cites methods appropriately, and even explains his thinking for the
misdirection (which I think was an excellent addition).
If I could rate it higher than a 5,
I would.

I'm a beginner.
So it's a little bit difficult for me.
But I'll train again and again.

I really like the OOTW plot. A lot. And without noticing, I started collecting them. This method is
another great add-on to the OOTW collection.
Erik is right. Full deck OOTW can be boring
and his way of answering that is truly smart. The moves incorporated here make sense thanks to the
patter, it's hidden well thanks to the structure of the routine, and Erik teaches alternatives, so
you are well covered.
Also, Erik's teaching is thorough as always and very detailed. This
isn't different in quality than any other of his other prodcuts which are really good.

The effect requires a difficult sleight that you can’t learn with a quick tutorial. Not satisfied
with the tutorial.

I’m super happy I picked this up, very cool effect.
Recommended for sure!

I had a feeling that the extra sauce necessary to make this work would require a lot of work and it
will. DON'T BUY THIS UNLESS YYOU ARE ALLOATING SOME SUBSTANTIAL RACTICE TIME FOR MOST PEPLE.

I've tried several versions of OOTW, and never been completely happy with any of them. While not
perfect, this is the best I've seen, in terms of setting up, giving the spectator a free shuffle
before, letting them inspect everything.
It's also the best tutorial I've seen so far on
the move you need to learn. It's unfortunate that I can't call out the move, because I'd buy this
download for the move alone, and I have several books and a couple of downloads on it already. Erik
explains how to do it clearly, concisely, and gives tips on it that turned it from "I know what to
do" to "I can do this!"
I really love this trick. When I bought it, I wasn't able to perform the sleight that it requires.
But I liked the effect so much, that I practiced everyday for a few weeks and got it down. Erik
teaches the sleight and gives some hints on practice. He even gives an alternative handling if you
don't want to do the sleight. Honestly, I may have never learned the sleight had it not been for Out
of This Zip Code. This can be done with a borrowed deck and incomplete deck, which is a huge plus
for me.
