Being able to perform amazing feats of direct mind reading using nothing more than little pieces of
paper and pencils or pens is one of the best skills a mentalist can have. Switchcraft by Elliott
Bresler is the book. Julian is making the movie, one volume at a time. The quality of the content
of volumes 1, 2 and 3 is so high. Live performances, clear instruction with both audience view and
over the shoulder views. It's some of the best billet teaching I've ever seen. No envelopes, no
wallets, no gimmicks, no gaffs. Just little pieces of paper and a pen. Many, if not most, of the
great mind readers of the past were masters with billets. Some of the older techniques as they
appeared in books, were difficult to execute. Julian Losa has fixed that with updated billet
methods that are easy to master and appear invisible to the audience. Highly recommended.

I've been enjoying Julien's billet related downloads, and this one is no exception. Just over 90
minutes to cover 3 routines, so you receive a good mix of live performance, detailed explanations
and clear teaching.
While this is a standalone set of effects, it does follow-on nicely
from volumes 1 & 2 with some additional techniques building on earlier work.
As you'd
expect from Julien, the routines are all excellent and definite workers. I think Hypnobillet is my
favourite (although I might not use the dual-reality), but it's difficult not to love Trionym Effect
Revisted.
What's even better is that all the techniques are very versatile and their use
is only limited by your imagination.
Great value for money and something I'll definitely be
using. I'm sitting in front of the TV every evening now practising my lobster.

This is an excellent video instructional on billet work for the mindreader! As with Julian's
previous releases on billets, this video is really good, with three routines performed and explained
in detail. If you are new to billet work, Julian makes learning about as easy as it gets, but do be
prepared to put in a little time and effort to master the moves (as with anything worthwhile).
If you are experienced with billet work, I think you still may really enjoy and get value from
this video course. I did.
Julian also has a charming personality and is funny, which is a
nice added touch to the program.
Well done!
P.S. - A sincere thanks for not adding
background music. Much easier for me to concentrate, and I truly appreciate it.

Full transparency I received a preview copy of this based on a previous review I had made for Vol 2
(spoiler alert: I loved it)
And it will come as no surprise that I loved this.
Here's why: it builds and expands on the work that has been presented already.
There were a
couple of very strong billet principles that were explored in the last video.
In this one
there are two classic mentalism/billet elements that are added to the routines that make them more
subtle, more fooling and more stage-worthy.
Added to this the introduction of "props" into
some of the routines brings the material to the next level.
If you are familiar with billet
work, you'll no already know these principles but if you don't -- prepare yourself.
Also, I
wasn't a huge fan of some of the billet moves, he taught-- being used to the ones I always used--
however-- I did try them out again and happily discovered that after having abandoned the new after
a couple days practice-- I found them much easier to do this time around! Go figure.
I
don't know if there will be a bonus FB group for this volume. But the one from Vol 2 has had a lot
of great contributions from users.
Lots of great crediting-- and rabbit holes to explore.

Show your drawing is the same as theirs -- AND THEIR THOUGHT-OF DATE AND PERSON.
AND MORE
MINDREADING MIRACLES!
JUST USE AN UNGIMMICKED CLIPBOARD AND SOME PIECES OF PAPER.
Julien Losa is a cheerful, indefatigable, patient teacher, running through all you need to
perform close-up and onstage.
Bravo Julien for making pieces of paper full of amazing
theatre!
There is something very appealing in going out with a few papers and a pen and knowing that with a
bit of skill you can do miracles. IMO Julien has taken billet work kicking and screaming into the
21century. I hope this series won't stop any time soon. Severely underrated material. The last
routine in volume 3 alone is a masterpiece.
Very well done Julien!
Three well-explained and demonstrated routines using billers. Julien provides in depth discussion
about the routine and associated handling. Multiple camera angles are used which is very helpful to
understanding the sleights involved. Very solid material for anyone interested in learning and
performing hard-hitting mentalism.
...and that is:
Julien unfolds the b****t in a s****h this way:
1. He first lifts up the
flap THAT FACES the spec.
When to me, the NATURAL first opening move is to start by lifting
the back flap. And...
2. He uses his thumb and 4th and PINKY fingers to do this first open
move. This looks awkward, as I see it.
In my view, it's an UNNATURAL way to open a piece of
paper. You can even see his lone spectator opening HIS folded piece of paper THIS way:
BACK FLAP
FIRST with his thumbs and FIRST fingers.
I have all of Julien's Penguin downloads. I love
them. But I don't believe my critique is nitpicking.
That move of opening the front flap
first -- with the thumb and pinky -- has always seemed unnatural.
Please understand.
Again,I'm a huge fan. I hesitated to bring this matter up.
Finally, I believe so much there
must be NOTHING unnatural in the handling,0 that I had to say something.
Merci.
