I bought this for the perfected centre tear . Probably the poorest explanation of an effect i have
Ever seen . No seriously , really , really disappointed with that . I feel like i would need to buy
his book on the centre tear to get the full detail . I wont , but nice try . The rest of the
effects are explained better .

The way he gets the crowd so fired up during the magazine test is indescribable. You just have to
watch it. They are laughing their heads off at the same time they're blown away beyond belief.
The version of AN he uses for the watch routine is very persuasive and I succeeded in using it
on someone within minutes of watching.
I use the Think Pink center tear with index cards
but have trouble using it with thin paper, so I have hope this Perfected Center Tear will work for
me with thin paper. Bank Night is not that puzzling but it is very fun for the audience and I will
be using it all the time.
I highly recommend this DVD!

This is the best of the first four DVDs in this series. As one review says Radar Deck alone is worth
the price of the DVD- and the performance on here is incredible, it's one of the best tricks I've
ever seen and I couldn't wait to learn it. There are also some other great effects on here.
The tricks are well taught and it's a pleasure to watch Richard do his thing.

This first DVD in Richard Osterlind's set is fantastic. I love Richard's work because most of it is
very practical for the working professional. Some of my favorite routines on this DVD include:
1. Bank Night
I never used to be a fan of the bank night routine until I saw Richard's
presentation of it. Ever since I saw this routine, I have added it to my stage show. What I really
like about this particular version is that the handling is much easier and cleaner than other
versions. I won't go into too much detail because of exposure, but the handling on this bank night
effect is a lot better than many others I have seen.
2. Magazine Test
This is a great
effect. The magician/mentalist writes a prediction, crosses it out and writes a second one. A
spectator then comes up and draws a circle in a page of a magazine. He or she then thinks of a word
in that circle, and the word matches the prediction. As an additional kicker, the spectator says
they almost picked another word in the circle, and the word they almost picked matches the word the
magician/mentalist crossed out previously. This routine has a very open and clean handling to it,
and would fit well in anyone's close-up or stage performance.
Richard Osterlind is a great
performer and his DVD sets are great. I highly recommend you pick this up!

Excellent DVD if you want to know more about Mentalism. this DVD gives you the real work.
Excellent DVD if you want to know more about Mentalism. this DVD gives you the real work.
All of Richard Osterlind's DVDs are very good. This one is particularly good, especially if your
goal is to put together a mentalism act in short order. The effects are strong, and Richard is a
great teacher. By studying and practicing the effects on just this one DVD, you could have a
mentalism show put together very quickly.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I have a few other DVD's by Richard Osterlind from the easy to master series and I wasn't that
impressed. So much so that I wasn't even sure if I wanted to purchase this set, but I must say the
material on this particular dvd is incredible! If you're into mental magic, this is a great set!
I found this entire series to be a valuable resource on performing and understanding mentalism. If
you want a great place to start with someone who knows his stuff in the area of mentalism this
series is for you. The Radar deck is out of control when done properly. If you want to learn a
proper (perfect) Center Tear this is a great resourrce as are all the DVD's in this series by
Osterland.
