I bought this effect after seeing it performed by a magician at my camp in front of a large crowd of
people ranging from ages 4 - 50; everyone loved it. You can use this effect as an opener, closer, or
something in the middle. There's are lot's of opportunities for comedy which makes it great for
kid's shows. Personally, I use it to close my kid's show and it has always gotten great reactions
from everyone; many people want to see it again.
Pros:
-Great for any type of stage
show (kids, adults, comedy, ect.)
-Packs flat
-Not expensive
-Killer reactions
Cons:
-Doesn't work with 100% of people. Younger kids (like younger than 5) might miss it.
-It doesn't come with something to turn it. But you can get a cheap electrical screwdriver from
walmart FOR LIKE $7 tht does a fine job.

This is an inexpensive way to add a great illusion to to add to a stage show. It can even be used
in a living room setting if the room is not too small. The prop looks cool and it is a neat effect
to see the spinning vortex. It really sucks you into the routine. The spectators stare into the
spinning disk. After 60 seconds or so, you tell the spectators to looks at you nose. Your head
actually shrinks! No joke, it does look that good. Reverse the direction of teh spin and your head
grows to mammouth proportions. It gets laughs and gasps.
You'll need a power drill or
electric screwdriver to spin at a constant speed. You will need to come up with a good routine and
get the audience to get their eyes trained on the disk. Some people will not see the effect the
first time so do it twice. This works well in a large auditorium. The prop is well made out of
thick plastic and should last for years if taken care of. Shrinking and Growing Head Illusion was
created by the brilliant Bruce Kelvar.

Used this in my show for about 250 people. While the MC introduced me he made the comment that he
hoped I could make him lose 50 pounds during the show so I called him on stage and people were
laughing like crazy as he "shrunk". Probably got the most comments about this illusion after the
show show. Even spectators off to the side could see it. I also got the kaplin hand crank to go
with it but it is nearly impossible to spin smoothly as it is too small but a black and decker
cordless screwdriver works perfect!

I get more excitement and entertainment value out of this than just about anything else I do. This
goes into all my presentations whether for young kids, senior citizens or all ages in between. I
recommend this to anyone who finds themselves in front of an audience.

You can back palm fifty cards and execute the world's greatest pass. After that you do this and
they won't even care. It's one of those rare pieces of magic that people actually leave your show
talking about. Has it been long enough now that we can call it a classic yet? If not, it's a must
have.

I did this trick at a school assembly last week of over 400 primary school kids and the reactions
were amazing as I heard many of the kids and teachers exclaiming OHHHHHH!!People on the side didn't
really see it. I also did it at a small 8th birthday a few days after. I think the kids were a bit
close and really didn't get the full effect and some kids didn't really focus on it.The adults at
the back enjoyed it.Only con is it doesn't quite fit in my case; although I'm glad its big enough
for every one to see. I may look into the folding one but not sure about the quality.

An age old illusion.
Should I make it or buy it?
Penguin has a reasonable price.
I would
not buy it at full retail price.

I have performed this routine for 13 years and it is just amazing. It is simple to operate and
people are simply blown away by it. One thing to remember is that, like any other magic trick, your
routine is important. You need to keep people looking at the disk for a while for it to work
correctly, so work on your patter and you will be in for a treat.
I highly suggest the Shrinking and Growing Head Illusion.
