Got this! I'm not a regular performer, but decided to put this into action, for my family, and
friends, as well as some publicity online!
Excellent idea, but I decided that the hundred
monkeys principle was not required, so just plumped for real predictions, according to Chris'
excellent observations and advice! A little courage goes a long way!
And boom! Six for six!
Hope others tried this with as much success...!

Wonderful! If you could really predict the Oscars, it would look exactly like this! An ingenious use
of a principle that’s blown people away on TV and stages around the world (the gimmicking is totally
invisible and reliable if you follow the instructions). But that isn’t the whole method: as Chris
says in the promo video, part of the method draws from a quirk of this year’s Oscars and it may not
work again for 20 years. I hope he’s predicted incorrectly on that one. I want to do this again at
the next Oscar night (or election, or Superbowl…) This is a just fantastic and a great value for the
money.

Chris
We nailed it! I can't tell you what a thrill it was to perform your Oscar 2015
Predictions for my family during tonight's award show. As magicians, it is rare that we can give our
family members an experience of real mystery. They are too jaded, having seen one too many card
trick. Even if they don't know exactly how you did something, they will deduce that there is some
trickery at play. Watching my two teenagers’ reactions to me hitting “6 out of 6” perfect
predictions was awesome.... They were clearly mystified and felt that they had witnessed the real
thing!
I say this not because I relish pulling one over on my teenagers who have seen it
all, but performing this effect was a very interesting experience for me and will inevitably
influence the way that I think about my own magic. A few things that I take away from this
experience are:
- It was a cool feeling of camaraderie to know that as I was unraveling
this mystery, my fellow magicians were doing the same. It is unusual for a magic experience to take
place simultaneously for multiple audiences around the world, without live feed or simulcast.
- The real time nature of the effect added a jazz element which reminded me so much about what I
love about Second City style improv comedy. There is a real performance thrill to being "in the
moment" and creating those magic moments when an improv piece really gels... This does not happen
every time but when it does, is sheer magic for both the performers and audience.
-
Another unusual aspect of this piece is that it took 4 hours to perform...This is a rarity and while
I would not suggest that this become a norm, it helped to elevate this from a magic/mentalism trick
to an Experience... something that is not only memorable to have witnessed but also something that
will hopefully live on the minds of your audience for a long time. And, in the event that this slips
into someone's subconscious, the memory and experience will be re-awakened next year and every year
thereafter that they turn on the Oscars.
- The unscripted and low key nature of the
performance meant that I could just relax and go with the flow of the event. This laid back style is
part of what made the method so disarming. Because nothing was seemingly happening other than my
spectators opening envelopes, the heat was totally off me, the performer. This makes me think that a
laid back, hands-off approach can be a powerful weapon for other magical effects, where it is
organic to the performance setting.
Thanks for sharing......The direct, super-clean and
diabolical method is nothing short of brilliant! I also appreciated your thinking regarding living
with less than 100% certainty and how this allows you to present such a clean and confounding
effect. The effort to eliminate the last percentage points of risk of failure, are not worth the
price that you have to pay. It had never really thought about this before and I think it is
liberating and opens up many more magical possibilities.
I did not see your Penguin Live
lecture so I am curious to know how effect went over with fellow magicians...I am guessing that many
were fooled.

When I purchased this, I thought that it would be something that I could perform in the future.
However, there was zero discussion about whether there was any use for this after the Oscar show.
This could have been designed to be more flexible toward the future. Perhaps incorporating
a method to allow the performer to create their own custom cards, or an additional set of cards that
could be used in a routine that re-creates the Oscars, perhaps an "Oscars of the ages".
Just be warned, if you purchase this, you are probably not going to be using this ever again.

This method seemed like it should have worked but unfortunately my spectators clearly saw the
gimmick

I downloaded this not to use it for the Oscars, but based on what one reviewer said about being able
to use this principle for other events such as the Super bowl which would be a less impressive
perdition then predicting the Oscars, but would be more of a sure thing at 50/50 odds you can’t lose
and don’t need any of the outs. Except maybe knowing what a cretin ambiance of the room is, but that
is an easy out. I just would like to know how to make these cards up for other events or situations,
so we all can use it for other things other than just predicting the Oscars (This year) I like the
principle and see a lot of potential with it except it does have its limitations. For example I
can’t explain why because I would expose the secret, but it won’t work for all situations for
example it would not have worked for THIS YEARS Super Bowl between the Seahawks and Patriots. You
will have to download it to see why, that being said it’s a great principle just not real world
practical. This download has everything you need in the PDF file to use it for the Oscars tonight,
but unless you know how to prepare the cards for what you want to use it on it has no other use than
this year’s Oscars. I would have really liked to have seen how I can prepare this for other things,
had he gone into some detail on that I would have given it 5 stars. However if you’re at an Oscar
party or something like that tonight and you do this, you WILL BLOW EVERYONE away and if you think
that’s worth $10.00 then you will want to download this.

I was not aware that Chris had a trick similar to this done on America's Got Talent. Do you remember
where the magician read a name off a card, then the card was shown to the audience, and it was
different than the read version? Whats really cool about this is, there are no switches!(For this
trick, for the Oscar trick, there is an out, just in case.) No sleights! Uses a cool technique that
I was not aware of. The cards are included in a zip file for the Oscar trick, so all you have to do
is print, and you are ready to go. I will tell you that this is a pretty sure thing, however, there
are some "outs" given... just in case! I haven't done the trick yet, just watched the video and
looked at the files. I think this will be fun at our Oscar night gathering. But, I also see me using
this as an MC Bit in the future.

I really don't understand why some reviews are so bad. I think that this is just fantastic idea and
I can see other uses than Osrcar 2015. It needs some thinking and can be used in stage routines if
you just think about it.
I know i bought this product to late but i didnt buy it for this specific routine, i bought it for
THE METHOD (Wich is amazing by the way) this product is not intended to be customized but as i know
photoshop and they provide the backgroung i've managed to do my own cards!!!!! amazing method,
highly recommended
get effect. to bad it could only be used for the 2015 oscars. of course with some changes it could
be used for predictions of all kinds.
