i found that a lot of Penguin's old downloads are filmed nicely, but this one was stupid. I can't see it ever being practical, and to pierce a business card with a toothpick is a little overrated. Kind of too hard to believe. The gimmick is awefull and too flimsy. way too easy to break and it probably will most of the times. Angles aren't much of a problem but I hate it personally. Don't waste your time or money

I got this download free as part of a promotion so I didn't actually buy it because it doesn't suit me. Personally I've not been looking for an effect that combines a toothpick and a business card because quite simply what's the point in putting a toothpick through a card and then showing that there's no hole?

I guess this could work as a small trick to impress a young family member, but let's be honest as an effect it lacks the wow-factor.

I like this. I think it is great for beginners. It is worth checking out.

This really isn't all that bad. It actually does produce an effective illusion that the toothpick really has pierced the business card. The problem is, why exactly would you want an effect like this? This is the sort of thing you'd pull out and use on friends over beers and buffalo wings, but it doesn't have any place in a real routine.

The construction of the gaff isn't really all that easy. Be prepared to break a lot of toothpicks trying to get it right. Just try not to lose any fingers in the process.

The real problem is that you can't let the toothpick be examined. With other similar illusions, such as the pen through dollar and the pencil through dollar, you're able to end clean by palming off the gaff before letting the item be handled. The nature of the toothpick gaff is that it's part of the toothpick; so all you can do is stick it in your mouth and trust that no one will want to handle it after that.

the price is too high. Also pretty angle sensitive. But I did fool people.

WARNING TO ALL PEOPLE THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS: YOU MUST MAKE A GIMMICK AT HOME! 10 DOLLARS!?!? no this trick is totally not worth it. It is VERY hard to make the gimmick if you dont have the right tools. when ever i finish doing this they say "Let me see the card" after that they say "let me see the toothpick". the toothpick is not examinable. go buy a 2 Dollar window, much better then this.

This trick is perfect for impromptu performances. You don't need to spend hours messing up making props. It is great!
