This is the best introductory lesson money can buy for any starting magician. The amount of
different effects to be learned allows for a diversity of skills. As a penguin veteran and owning
these DVD's for 5 years now, I highly recommend it. An all around great buy.
This is a good dvd that i am happy i got, this dvd shows you really easy but well thought of and
good magic tricks. I'm not much of a card magician myself, but even the card tricks in these dvds
are pretty good, easy, fun and concealed well. I would recommend this to anyone who wants variety in
their magic field.
In these 2 volumes which are put out by Jay sankey even experts will learn something new. Plus the 8
secrets of magic are good for magicians to know highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gave this set the highest rating, because I can't think of a better source for beginning magicians
to start their new hobby or career. Nearly all of the tricks contained here are self working,
meaning no sleight of hand, just simple misdirection and memorizing the steps of each trick. There
are only a couple of exceptions, and even these can be mastered with a few days practice.
As for myself, I was looking for a refresher, just getting back to the basics of magic, before all
the gimmicks and fancy props. Jay gave new life to some old childhood favorites, and really inspired
me to dig out some of those old magic books from the sixties that have been gathering dust on my
shelves. There are some real gems in there that I'm seeing for the first time from a new
perspective, no longer the child looking for easy tricks, but now an experienced performer thinking
"How can I make this as strong as possible?" For my money I didn't get just the tricks shown here,
but a philosophy that will make my magic stronger, and make me a better magician. Well worth it,
whether you're a beginner, or an expert in need of humbling.
There are some fine effects with clear explanations on these videos. ?) Some of the effects require
preparation, some require specific performing conditions (including clothing). Unfortunately, the
price is certainly excessive. Think of the library a beginning magician could get for this price!
If money is no object, then consider these videos.
When I began magic I got this cool 2 dvds of JAY SANKEY!
it is the best dvd ever invented.
This is the best intro to magic. I was a little dissapointed with the demo video too. The Chinese
coin changing to a quarter or the ring on the finger and the dissapearing ace of spades. None of
these are taught on the dvd. But this is still a great buy.
If you want a great set of DVDs buy Jay Sankeys Amazing Magic Tricks anyone can do Vol #1 and #2.
They can also be done anywhere and some with money, napkins, etc. There are a couple of tricks that
make the entire DVD worth the price... "Easy Money" uses a butter knife and two rubber bands to make
a couple of dimes and a large bill of your choosing appear. "Seeing Things" you punch two holes in a
business card and the holes disappear. "Crystal Ball" is where someone signs the bottom of a
business card with a blank crystal ball and after they select a playing card, their card appears
inside the crystal ball. This trick reminds me a little of "Snowstorm." It blows people away. The
trick "Marked Deck" is a mentalism effect that seems
impossible and is awesome. I gave it 4
stars instead of 5 because some of the tricks I already knew. Buy Amazing Magic Tricks by Jay
Sankey.
If you are starting off in magic I could not recommend this set of DVDs more. Sankey clearly
explains all the tricks and they are all very easy to do. Get Theese DVDs!!!
