Name of a trick from Steve Dacri's Magic Secrets kit?

There was a trick in Steve Dacri's Magic Secrets kit that I liked, and after a _lot_ of googling, I have not been able to find the name of the trick, or even a description that kind of matches it. I am hoping someone else here might know what this trick is called. :)

The props involved were a small envelope with 4 (gimmicked) cards inside that had all been cut in half crosswise.

Steve would take the cards out of the envelope and lay them out so the 8 pieces made 4 cards.

Steve's patter was, in brief, "I asked someone to cut the cards, and they wrecked my deck. But I can still use them as long as I keep the pieces together. The problem is when I mix them up."

Here he would move the bottom halves of the cards so none of them matched (eg. top half is 3H, bottom half is 8C).

Patter continued, "of course, I can fix them like this,"

He would then flip the top halves over on to the bottom halves so the backs of the cards were showing, snap his fingers, and deal the cards out again showing that the top and bottom halves matched correctly, making 4 complete cards again.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?
