I first owned the Flash Pen by Alan Wong. Unfortunately it stopped working. Alan no longer sells it
so he sent me something else in exchange, so I ended up buying this as a replacement.
It
works well and does what it should, but the craftsmanship is much worse than the flash pen. The
Flash Pen for example was a perfect Sharpie and had no visible damage, only a small hidden light and
button to activate it.
This Amazing Sharpie seems to contain components that do not fit
inside the sharpie well.. Thus part of the sharpie is bulging even when the button and light are
hidden from view. Therefore it looks a bit cheap and detectable.
I wouldnt worry about it
too much as its generally not the main part of your trick, just an enhancement, but I was surprised
I did not get the same quality seen in the Flash Pen.
One more thing, unlike the Flash Pen
you can use this sharpie to write with and refill the ink if needed. So there is that... but that is
not the main thing I would use this for, so having a second sharpie that actually works is fine to
me.
I wish someone would make one like the Flash Pen again, with the electronics neatly
inside the pen and not bulging out the side.
