After reading another negative review on these, I asked that my shells be checked to make sure they were smooth and not discoloured prior to sending them. Well the bottom of the shells are very rough, I doubt you could use these on a table cloth without snagging the cloth, on a close up mat they catch and sound like you’re scraping a needle point over your mat.
In addition to that, there are spots where the pewter is clearly showing through the gold. The gold itself is quite dull and looks more like gold craft paint.
The final problem is that the glass the comes with the shells, is too small to fit over the shells.
I am extremely disappointed with the ‘golden’ shells and consider them a complete waste of money.
