This coin shell is not expanded so of course it will not fit around a normal half dollar. However
the very disappointing things are
1) Even a shaved down half dollar that fits inside an
unexpanded half dollar shell will not fit inside this shell
2) The shell is the most
shallow shell I have ever seen so I guess this is made for tiny little coins, I even tried placing
it on a penny, and while the penny fits inside the shell, the shell is so shallow that the shell
cannot even fully cover a penny in height...
So this is not a shell for your unexpanded
shell set... this is actually worse than a shimmed half dollar IMO. You can at least show both
sides of a shimmed half, this one is hollow and cannot be shown on the other side, and is too small
to even cover much of anything at all
It will sit on the shelf unused...
