I bought two of these. One had a hazy area where the acrylic cement ran. Penguin compensated me for
this. I'd recommend that you look over the item carefully when you unpack it.
This is not a
molded polystyrene piece. It's acrylic, which has much better clarity and scratch resistance. You
can see the quality. Pieces like this must be hand assembled and cemented from precisely cut parts,
which explains why they can be more expensive. I think this is a pretty good price for what you get.
I wish the bottom shelf had thumb notches like the other levels. The bottom row of card decks
are harder to remove. The cabinet arrives in a nice black cardboard box. I tucked the lid flaps back
inside the box and it can be slipped down over the cabinet from the top to protect the collection
from light damage.
