The Carat Case series is top of the line. They are acrylic, not regular plastic. The magnets that hold the lid on are tiny, discreet and very strong. Acrylic cases like these are hand assembled from precision-cut pieces of flat acrylic plate, which naturally makes them more expensive. This is an excellent price from Penguin, and lower than other retailers. I hope Penguin starts carrying the rest of the Carat Case line.
