Clumsy, and requires constant cover. It mimics another technique, which is subtle, this is anything
but.
Any 'move' or 'technique' requires constant cover. With the technique Pilcher's Sniper mimics you couldn't put the deck down and cut the deck again and again on the table. That's the main reason for using Pilcher's Sniper instead. With Pilcher's Sniper you can make everything, from the handling to cutting the deck look completely fair and clean which is harder to do with the other technique.
As for being clumsy... It clearly didn't appear clumsy to you when you watched the trailer... Unless you purchase tricks that look clumsy? Which would be an odd thing to do.
