This is an awesome effect and wow what a method.
As for the DIY part: mine came almost
completely ready out of the box. There was a little stickiness, but it made sense to me that it
could have occurred in travel.
Living in Vegas, you have to expect our climate to affect a
lot of adhesives in travel and it does, not just with this effect but a lot of others too.
Other than that it worked great. I did swamp out the thing with a stronger thing, but it wasn't
required, just made it easier to operate in my opinion.
If you're thinking you're going to
use this like the demo you won't be. This effect really was designed for a one-off performance like
on a stage or parlor set. It was probably a poor choice for them to film it the way they did, but I
never expected I'd be walking around with this box as part of my strolling set, if you did you
probably haven't done many strolling gigs.
