Magic Tricks

The title of this effect is what prompted me to look more closely...The Indian Bean Mystery?!!! Just the kind of old world gem that I 'live to discover'! Tom Mullica adds even greater interest with his presentation and final joke. The trick itself has such an absurd premise that anyone doing comedy closeup magic would appreciate this. That Mullica gives some background in the explanation phase, implies that this trick has been around for quite sometime. Right next to swallowing thread and pulling it out of one's eye. Something which may very well have appeared in Sam Dalal's Swami Mantra book. Comedic presentation or not, this is a very curious illusion-convincing and so strange, that I have a hard time imagining who would forget such a demonstration-complete perhaps with narrative references to Hindu Fakirs and Indian street conjurers.
The props, so simple. As beans will be affected by saliva, the trick can easily be done with small beads. Whichever, this unusual trick is a worthwhile addition I think, to anyone's arsenal. Perfectly presented and explained by a master performer.
