I first came across a version of this effect, in a book by Ellis Stanyon. That book, was published
in the 1920's. The effect itself may be much older. Stanyon's version is minimal, discreet, and
works well. The get ready and cleanup was not smooth and I think needed further refinement. More
current versions of this effect, have not been so clean. One I saw has a bulky device loaded into a
deck and was too difficult to get working. Because the effect itself is so stunning, I've kept my
eyes open for an effective and clean version. HERE IT IS-!
Clean from beggining to end. The
tutorial covers all relevant details, including a way to have one card slide from one end if the
spread to the other. What makes this possible is easily found, and under 5$. The way it's utilized
here, it's as though it were made only for this trick! What's best I think, is that by the time the
spectator touches the deck youv'e just closed...your'e already clean! Any deck can be used, so long
as it spreads easily.
Far as I am concerned, THIS solution to the effect is one I can settle
on-for me, it covers all the bases!
