This 'thing' - in classic Disney/Hollywood' crap design (in-yer-face obvious) - may become an excellent 'research - prompt' in any modern classroom, under the rubric 'WHAT IS THIS ?'
I can make this 'thing' pop up, pop down. pop in, pop out, and appear on my back all to the delight of children + adults. Yet, what's the point ? I can do these things with heaps of objects. One basic 'point' is, 'folk laugh', it breaks tension, it is interesting, it may become dramatic...etc, as such capers!!!!!
The printed card graphics (including conceptualisations) which comprise 95 per cent of this magic package, are - as other reviewers have noted - out of date... as in 1930's school texts form and design.....and nothing to laugh about...true sphincter-tighteners
I have up-dated this item, excellently packed and sent by Penguin, by selecting and using modern graphics - added cost $30, Plus the efforts in re-thinking how magic performance might operate in modern classrooms.
In a classroom Bob, like a magician or parent, is simply a teacher's-aide: there to promote learning. So, in my view, this item has the potential for an educational A+++ - as it stands, it is a bummer... as dead as the out of date graphics that support it.
