Alexander Marsh has done it again! This is a brilliant routine, full of opportunity for real
entertainment.
The secret is simple, but I doubt I would have thought of it myself. I love
the extra ideas that Alexander shares too. Very flexible.
Now, whenever I see a magician
put on a blindfold, I automatically assume they can actually see, to some degree or another. So I
wasn’t sure I’d be able to do this trick. But actually, I think the fact that I can’t see without my
glasses makes this effect even more powerful!
And Alexander does give other options than
blindfolds, if for some reason you’d rather not use one.
With this process, even though
I’m practically blind without my glasses, I can present a stunningly convincing effect! Alexander
has come up with a sure-fire way to know who’s bag he’s holding, so half of the act is already in
the bag, so to speak. So even if I don’t get the details of the object correct, I can get the color
and shape right. And I think that makes it even more convincing. Especially to people who know me
and know I can’t see without my glasses AND I’ve got on a blindfold, this will be a mind-blowing
demonstration for sure!
So, if you aren’t sure if you can use this because you need your
glasses to see and it doesn’t make sense to wear them under a blindfold, I can’t guarantee anything
for sure, but I think you can still use this technique.
Nope, Bigun. You will have about 10 seconds of prep work to do and you'll want to test out whatever blindfold you have, if you have one, before using it. But nothing special required... just a certain characteristic you'll want to be aware of.
In fact, I personally plan on using Blindfoil (Patrick Kuffs)... it's a great alternative to a blindbold. I think it's actually more interesting and even a little funny.
I hope this helps!
