My second gripe is cards...cards. How many cards do we have to see flipped over... That's the main drawback to any card trick where there's a lot of dealing. Takes too long.

Unless this is some parody of boring card tricks.

The ending is very good, but Huot didn't think enough about the middle -- how to speed it along.

And then there are the suggested forces which put even more cards on the table.

It's a slow trick. I'm not going to stop here and improve the pace for them. But you should. Huot definitely should've.
