I will say that this device is pretty fun and extremely clever. That said this is the type of trick
that's so in love with the cleverness of the method that it doesn't stop to ask if the effect is
worth it. An ungimmicked gift box along with a good card force and you have essentially the same
effect that would leave you ending completely clean. With The Gift you start dirty, ends dirty, and
are dirty all the way through. The deck isn't examinable and although the box would survive a
cursory examination it would not survive a thorough one. It's well made and as mentioned very
clever, but for what the effect ends up being the price simply isn't justified.
"Start dirty and ends dirty??" So does everyone when they are switching bills. How thorough an examination do you imagine would reveal secrets? None of my audiences have a car crusher/shredder idling outside.
Hi Sciali, if you like this trick that's great, it's just not for me. I think you missed my point about starting and ending dirty. If I'm going to perform a trick where I start and end dirty, it will be because there aren't cleaner methods to accomplish a comparable effect. This one misses the mark for me because I can think of numerous ways to present a similar effect that's every bit as powerful and MUCH cleaner (ungimmicked deck, ungimmicked box or envelope, no t******p required). The device for this is cool but it strikes me as an overly complicated method for a reveal. Just my opinion. Cheers.
