Of all the tricks so far from the Coffee Conjuring 2 series, I think that this is the most visual so
far. It the most "Huh what?" effect of the ones that have been released.
That said, I do
have to say that, for me personally, this is a bolder trick to perform than the others. Experienced
magicians will perform this without a second thought. Someone like me though... I'll be nervous. Is
it worth overcoming the nerves for? Absolutely. Just being transparent though... if you get nervous
about getting caught because you don't have confidence in your misdirection skills, you'll want to
practice this a few times.
Is the demo accurate? YES - Greg always strikes me as an honest
magician. What you see is certainly what you get. And props to Greg for his never having heard of
the Magic Castle! HAHA! He’s so funny!
Is the trick easy? YES - Just practice. This trick
is all about the subtleties and misdirection.
Any sleight of hand? NO - Not really… you
have to do “the move” but it’s not tricky in anyway. Just practice so that your brain can be focused
on the presentation.
Any arts & crafts? NO - Well, actually, I would suggest a little
preparation that is not mentioned by Greg… having the cups pre-marked or even having the printed
order labels affixed ahead of time would take this to another level. (Especially if the Venti cup
said “Tall” on it - I hope you’re reading this Greg and Grip!) Convincers like this would just make
this, well, more convincing. Of course, you’ll need a cooperative no-questions-asked barista for
this. ;-)
How is the teaching? As usual, Greg (and Grip) teach this trick very
sufficiently. Really, between the two, there is a whole lot of insight being spilled out on the
table. I loved it.
Is the trick well priced? YES, especially at the sale price. The full
price of $10 might be pushing it.
Am I glad I got this trick? YES - this is a mini-class on
misdirection and the finer points of making a convincing presentation.
Ok, so this is how
I’m rating this… I was going to give this 4 stars because it’s a great simple trick (even though
honestly, I’m hesitant just because I’m scared I’ll be caught on this… but this is a good excuse to
push myself and get better at misdirection). Usually I save the fifth star for mind-blowing visual
magical stuff… and guess what, even though this isn’t “mind-blowing”, it certainly does get the
spectator to say “wait. what just happened.” and it is indeed visual. So an extra half star for the
Brews Brothers!
By the way, I always try to be honest and straightforward in my reviews,
while being respectful to the magician. If you appreciate my reviews, can you please click the "Yes"

any way by your clicking it... but it would be nice to see if my reviews are helpful or not. I hope
they are. If you ever have suggestions or comments or questions about my reviews, please feel free
to leave me a constructive comment. I'm just trying to be helpful. I love the Penguin community and
hope that I can someday contribute my own product. :-) Thanks for reading and for any (hopefully
positive, but either way, at least kind) feedback.
