Mark is an fine teacher. I liked how he explained a gimmick version and non-gimmicked version.
Also, his subtleties were a nice touch. This is very versatile, a great card to impossible location,
and easy to perform. I highly suggest it to anyone that is the least bit interested.
That
being said, here are my negatives.
There are better card to impossible locations- many of
which don't require gimmicks.
Anyone that has been doing magic a long time might be
disappointed with the method, if they were expecting this to be something more than re-inventing the
wheel.
Lastly, I purchased this as a mentalist. I was intrigued how my b***et work might
be enhanced by PEN PAL. What can I say? It would work. It would work well. But, it's not the
strongest tool in any mentalist worth his salt. There are so many different ways to sw**ch B***ets
or make open predictions. And, honestly, this doesn't quite meet the grade for me to use on a
regular basis.
Here's whats great though. The strength of this trick is the way it is
presented, as a CTIL. It's subtle, easy, and the handling can be adjusted to fit your style. It's
not the most magical effect as presented but in the right hands it has potential. And, at least it's
not an overdone card to mouth. This could be a great worker for a street or close-up magician.
