To be completely honest I was expecting these cups to be much better than the ones that I recieved
and I felt a little scammed. I have been doing cups and balls for a long time and I own the Johnson
cups and wanted a new set of cups that I could throw around, but were still of good quality. These
are nice cups, but I could have bought the same ones elsewhere (local magic shop or online) for
about half the price I paid for these. I am just glad that I got a bunch of free stuff with them
which helped make up for the high price tag. My suggestion: look around for some cheaper cups that
are of the same quality...you can even find brass ones for much less than these.
I'm curious as to what these "cheaper cups of the same quality" are. I've been hunting around and PFD/Penguin cups are heavier and more substantial than anything else I have found in the double digit range.
OathSworn, mind you, this review is 11 years old. The quality of the product in question is likely different than it was back then. I wouldn't put too much faith in a review from over a decade ago. Not to mention expecting a reply.
These cups are solid copper therefore I don't think you can find higher quality than solid (100%) sounds to me they have a preference for Johnson and brass. The penguin cups are my neatest friends.
One review did say they are second generation, Race, so I think your right and that could be it. That's definitely some jay from way back when though.
If you want an excellent quality that last forever, I highly recommend with not regrets 100% excellent buy the luxury set : https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/13017
