This is the first Penguin video I've seen that straight up used a "creative edit" to demo an effect.
Boo. Send a message. My rating is based entirely on this bad choice on their part. I love Tommy
Wonder and his L&L video is worth the price - his two cup routine absolutely stunned me when I saw
it...But this mis use of technology is crap no matter how you try to justify it. Shame on you guys,
get that weak stuff outta here and get back to what you're good at.
Michael Fisher. I can assure that your review got posted because even the P3 guys thought it was laughable.
Sorry to sound harsh, but please go get a life Instead of trying to sabotage effects by leaving negative reviews on things you don’t intend of buying.
Clearly the ad took a creative route you don’t like, you have every right to have an opinion on it, but I also have every right to tell you that yours unsubstantial.
The ad does does not intend on misleading you, but instead gives you the eyes of a spectator, which is really the effect we are interested in selling our spectators.
Dude what are you thinking? Another angry nerdy magician who doesn’t get laid.
You call it a 'misuse' of technology, but I disagree. I think it's the ideal use of technology. This trick relies on misdirection. I think it's pretty clear that the demo is illustrating the effect, not demonstrating it. When a phase of a trick like this relies *entirely* on misdirection, we can't show it in the trailer. The alternative was not showing anything. What we settled on felt more helpful.
I feel bad that the only thing you are busy doing is criticizing a video advertising a download. I mean go find other things to do. You are making this look like a bad product in which you have no idea as you haven’t even bought it. Go find better things to do with your time
The girl is very cute ...
I chuckled when I seen the video, but I also got it. If the video showed the method in the advertising then just take the price off and say Free Lesson. I can’t count the magic adds that use “creative” editing to conceal the method, misdirection, gimmick, etc. Also watch any magic show on tv do they show the magician doing a top change, or a pass at a bad angle? No they don’t so I don’t see anything wrong with the add.
I'm okay with not showing the performer doing a sleight, but this was a whole different story. This simply does not happen.
silly criticism, that electronic edit is completely acceptable in add copy.
