This is a pretty good lecture. But I thought about giving it 3 stars. I definitely got something
out of it. I will say there is serious value from 1 or 2 "hidden gems," and I will leave it at
that. Mr. Wilson's passion and attention is palpable, which I appreciated. His ace assembly is
great.
I think one of the reasons I was mildly disappointed is that Mr. Wilson's skill was
not readily apparent in all of the items that he performed. I keep hearing how he is one of the
best cardmen around. Yet some of his execution faltered on this video. That being said, if you are
moderately experienced, you can massage the tricks to smooth over the fumbles that Wilson
experienced. To give him the benefit of the doubt, a lecturer oftentimes has moved passed the items
that he is "tipping" and may have not performed the items in the lecture in quite some time. But if
I am being honest, this affected my experience. But perhaps this says more about me than Mr.
Wilson.
At the end of the day, if you are a serious student of magic, you will get at least
1 or 2 items out of this lecture that you will play with and perhaps add to your repertoire. I will
keep Mr. Wilson on my radar and check out other items by him.
