I love Docc Hilford's performance style, in my opinion he is building a bridge between the Annemann
school of mentalism and the modern times.
However this lecture was a big disappointment. The
only effect that will probably stay in my mind is the drawing duplication with a clever concept by
Orville Meyer. The other stuff is card stuff, mediocre material, not the one that leaves the
audience with a miracle.
Docc presents all of this with his charming style, tells interesting
anecdotes, but sometimes he just lost me. At times I just didn't understand if he was still talking
about the effect or if he was telling a new story.
It must be difficult to show effects just for
a camera (since the host was most of the time silent) but it's still quite an expensive lecture and
so I wouldn't recomment it.
If interested, get Docc's first Penguin Live Lecture, that one was
super!
