The adcopy on this is Ellusionist-level deceptive, first off. These pretty much have to be done via
zoom, and zoom only, the effects must be done in groups of 3 and 2, and for some reason Nicolas
Pierri is on here giving a testimonial even though he worked on the project?? Wtf. I can't get into
the rest because I'd be exposing parts of the methods, but believe me, it's not what is being
described.
The method is "shotty" (without exposing too much), which really feels like a
shot in the foot for $25. Not only that, but the best effects are locked behind a method that is so
laughable that I actually laughed when watching the tutorial because I thought it was an actual
joke. You can imagine my disappointment when there was no punchline. Not only that, but the first 3
effects must be done for the same person, one after the other, with the same "shotty" method.
Then there's the Facebook group. In this, we were promised an impromptu version of Berglas 2.0,
that didn't require the joke of a method. It took a month or so, but we finally got it. Come to find
out, you still need to do the awful oil and water routine in order to get into position to even do
it. So it's practically useless, because the oil and water routine is the weakest one here.
Not only that, when the Facebook group finally formed, Alejandro posted a full routine where
everything was impromptu, but only ever posted the explanation for Berglas, encouraging the members
of the group to figure it out on their own. And that's all good and fine, but when I spent money on
the initial method and can't even use it, well, you know.
This has got to be the biggest
waste of $25 I've ever spent on Penguin. And I'm extremely disappointed with how they handled
everything. I will never buy another trick from Penguin without the same skepticism I give E,
specifically because of this download.
Thanks for sharing your views. From the description and the video this sounds amazing. I had thought about buying. Then thankfully when doing research I came across a video of Alejandro preforming one of the tricks (or maybe it was more - it seemed to have a few parts) in full over Facebook. I quickly lost interest when it was incredibly obvious how he had done it - using a very old method.
I believe from watching a review of this that there is a disclaimer about not recording your performances of this trick? From seeing him do it I can see why. Most people I feel could watch and easily work it out and so get it for free.
Your review is certainly helpful and just confirms to me that these tricks are probably not good strong material.
I also find it strange none of the 5 star reviews for this are verified buyers, but all of the lower ones are.
